This Is What One Guy Thinks the PS4 Will Look Like

Kotaku - Let's all remember: we haven't seen the PlayStation 4 yet. Along with games that were purportedly running on the system specs, Sony's event last month only showed viewers the controller.

Godmars2904052d ago

Ugh. Makes me want to take back what I once said about just needing a box. Hope Sony can actually do better.

Hufandpuf4052d ago

See the design does matter in some way.

MikeMyers4052d ago

Not to me. This looks sort of like it's made by Linn (high end audio equipment).

I would actually prefer something like this as it's easy to store in an entertainment center and doesn't clash with everything else.

As long as it's quiet and doesn't run too hot I don't really care too much what it looks like. Unless it's something like the Gamecube.

Godmars2904052d ago

Well, I like this one better. Even if its better suited for a later slim model.

MikeMyers4052d ago

Godmars290, not bad but not as good as this one I pre-ordered. It comes with a year supply of Pop Tarts.

I can already see this video being passed around on facebook and all the noobs thinking this is the PS4...smh. I'm sure whatever Sony makes will look sexier than this.

Gaming1014051d ago

This looks like an old, ugly VCR. Definitely not happening after how nice the PS3 looked on launch.

zeee4051d ago

I think the new PS4 will look like one of these other Sony products (bluray players). I am just guessing but here goes nothing...

It's Kotaku. They found the worst possible concept and put an article up about it.

zeee4051d ago

So true! I agree 100%. Kotaku are the worst!

MYSTERIO3604052d ago (Edited 4052d ago )

Well the original PS2 wasn't really a looker when it first launched back in 2000 but look now its the highest sold console in history. I don't think looks are everything when it comes to hardware design but i'm sure Sony can do a better job then that.

kaozgamer4052d ago

wheres the playstation logo on the front?!?

Knight_Crawler4051d ago (Edited 4051d ago )

I really hope we get the option to place the PS4 in a vertical position...did like the fact that Sony designed the PS3 slim that you can only have it horizontal.

Also I hope the new PS4 CONTROLLER has a sync button that you can use to connect it to the PS4.

Looks like an early DVD player, god I hope it looks nothing like that concept, it's truly horrible.

SantistaUSA4052d ago

all he did was to copy Sony Blu-ray design. It looks horrible.

strickers4052d ago

have you seen the new BR players ? They don't look that plain
It's all in the details, and that has no detail

SantistaUSA4052d ago

@strickers, yes I've seen it and it does look better that this video, but I'm still not a big fan of that design.

Merrill4052d ago

Who cares what it looks like, only what it can do :)

Hufandpuf4051d ago

Come to think of it. It looks like a Wii.

Fallout 4 is now available on next-gen consoles, but PS Plus users might be left disappointed

Probably won't happen for PS+ since Sony makes a clear distinction between a PS4 game and a PS5 game, unlike PC and Xbox where it is not a specific device game (It's now always an Xbox game).

So to make the PS5 game of fallout 4 available. Bethesda would need to renegotiate the complete deal with Sony.
hence why there's often only the PS4 version of the game available on PS+.

Let's hope Bethesda and Sony can arrive to term quickly.

P_Bomb2h ago

In that same link, they talked to further support who said PS+ owners aren’t eligible. What a load of BS! The upgrade worked just fine for FF7R. I was looking forward to this. 😞

ChasterMies23m ago

PS5 upgrades for PS4 games on PS+ are hit and miss. The reason is usually that publisher doesn’t want to hand out free upgrades. Sometimes they offer the upgrade upfront, sometimes they are bullied into it, and sometimes they offer it later in a special edition that Sony buys for PS+. It looks here like Bethesda’s intent was to raise the profile of Fallout 4 (and sell some DLC) so I expect we will see an update for PS+ versions soon.

Mr Logic0m ago

Bethesda themselves acknowledged that Plus users are eligible. There is just some kind of glitch and they are working to fix it.

CobraKai4h ago

I think a hard copy should be relatively cheap at this point.

ocelot071h ago

Roughly a fiver for disc. It's also £3.99 on PSN right now for both PS4 and ps5 version.

P_Bomb1h ago

North America sale just ended. The timing for me absolutely blows.

Hofstaderman43m ago(Edited 42m ago)

So if I insert my ps4 disc I should get the upgrade?

This article is funny. They tell you that $35 is a good deal for this game...We know whose side they are on.

REVIEW: Sand Land faithfully adapts to game form a lesser known Akira Toriyama creation | Showmetech

From Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, Sand Land is a fun adaptation of the manga and anime in videogame form. For all of its simplicity and repetition, it's a beautiful interpretation of the source material.
