Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows Preview - RipTen

RipTen's Krysti Pryde writes:

"It’s hard to truly capture the majesty and nostalgia of something as iconic as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and some may argue that the shine from the days of the original cartoon and Konami‘s Turtles In Time has been well worn off, but there is a new hope on the half-shelled horizon in the form of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows."

the look of them is ugly but its getting better as i see more images.. I dont know why they made my boy Raphael a damn brute! Hes supposed to be agile & fast with good cqc.. Not a damn wrestler.. Oh well, ill have to see for myself when the game comes out..

One question tho, why does Leo have no pupils & the others do?

Nostradavis4050d ago

Good question about the pupils.

Activision Pulls TMNT, Fast & Furious Games from Digital Marketplaces

Since it's not just Spider-man, it may not be a simple case of franchise rights moving to another publisher. Fast and the Furious and TMNT aren't owned by Marvel/ Disney.

Activision may simply be trying to push away from licensed franchise products

gamer78042665d ago (Edited 2665d ago )

also the 2 worst ninja turtles games ever made, the recent nickelodeon games, atleast those had some of the charm of the tv series and old style tmnt games.

Cmv382665d ago

Spider man taking down because of the new one. These taken down because they are utter garbage.

lodossrage2665d ago

Spider-man isn't being taken down because of the new one coming up. It's being taken down because just like TMNT and Fast & Furious, they are no longer willing to pay the digital licenses on most of their franchise products.

Next-Gen Darth Maul Star Wars Demo Being Produced By Developers of Cancelled Darth Maul Game

Remember that Darth Maul Star Wars game that was cancelled a few years back? Of course you do, you’re still able to remember the salty tears dripping down your cheek. Well you can wipe away any that still remain: it looks like we might see the ugly bugger get his starring role after all.

Why must Disney cancel this and Star Wars 1313

Big_Game_Hunters3103d ago (Edited 3103d ago )

Interesting that this was originally going to be a Wiiu game. Maybe its a demo for the NX?

They did say Next-Gen so...

Whatever platform its on, Hopefully the Demo turns into a full game.

Star Wars is the biggest waste of a license in video game history. It's churned out garbage since Kotor II. Where are the action/adventures, RPGs, FPS?!? So. Much. Potential. You don't have to travel the galaxy to tell a good story. Imagine playing a survivalist on Tatooine, Mad Max style, with Pod Racers etc. eugh I need it.

Eiyuuou3103d ago

The Jedi Knight series was awesome though.

CyrusLemont3103d ago

Yeah, those were great! Wasn't sure where they fit on the timeline. But everything after the Xbox/PS2 era has fairly lazy.

I'd kill for a next gen Pod Racer.

Larry L3102d ago

So, all of you people, not just you two posters, but also everyone who agreed with not a single disagree, all think The Force Unleashed was a garbage game made by lazy devs? WOW, I thought it was a great game, with top notch graphics and physicss for it's time. No gamebreakers (glitches), and just an all around great action adventure\platformer in general. And the way it implemented force powers was totally inventive and well thought out. Personally tthat game really made me feel like a total basass Jedi or Sith. The game had some great, challenging boss battles, and brought back something that was nearly dead in console games at the time, which I still miss to this day most of the time......cheat codes!

I just think SWTFU was an all around great game. Not to mention another reason I like it, is I bought the PS3 Ultimate Sith Edition, and that version only had 1 very limited printing, and is one of the only games last gen that was a genuine collectors item that actually went up in value. It sold for $40 new and the last time i saw a used one at gamestop it was marked for $69. It's lke the ps2 version of MvC2.

DeadlyFire3102d ago

Bleh Force Unleashed was decent, but it was not Jedi Knight. It was one of the few titles that Lucasarts actually let finish though which is great. Quality wise it was not bad. It just left off some stuff from Jedi Knight that would have made the Force Unleashed series outstanding. Physics wise and gameplay wise Force Unleashed was not a bad game series.

Jedi Knight series is still the best Jedi game ever made so far. :)

Eiyuuou3102d ago

TFU was a decent game. It had an ok story, great music and sound effects, and good gameplay. But it severely lacked challenge. With JK2 during bossfights I had to fight with my full attention or else the boss would wreck my shit.

I must've spent hundreds of hours playing splitscreen pod racer when I was younger. I wish they'd make another one. I'd love another Rogue Squadron to while their at it.

DeadlyFire3102d ago

Lucasarts is to blame. They litterally had 30 ideas/games they did nothing but cancel, and throw away along the way.. KOTOR 3, FU 3, Jedi Knight Sequel, and others. That just sat there and never got pushed to completion. CEO of Lucasarts was a complete failure.

Then they got a new CEO that promised to deliver games, and 1313, and First Assault emerged, but both disappeared due to Disney acquisition.

EA is aiming to do right in some ways. They have a FPS/TPS Battlefront. Not exactly the same as old ones, but it could improve vastly. They also have an Action/Adventure title in the works at Visceral. Then well they have an RPG in the works at Bioware or so one believes. Who knows though.

SegaGamer3102d ago

@Larry L, I liked the Force Unleashed games too, great fun. Not up there with the Jedi Knight games though, they felt like proper Star Wars games.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows Review (PS3) | Metal Arcade

Metal Arcade: Jason Bakker writes:

As a TMNT fan since childhood, I was in the minority of those who enjoyed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows when it released last August for PC and Xbox 360. PS3 players have been waiting an extremely long time for the PSN version to release with no real updates – so long, in fact, that many believed the game was cancelled. Booting up my PlayStation 3 review copy after all this time felt a bit surreal, but when the awesome menu screen popped up, with the Turtles in their iconic poses from the first issue of the comic book, I was amped up to play through it again. There are definitely some problems here — including a practically unplayable online mode — but overall the game nails the TMNT vibe and backs it up with fun combat.
