Wonder if people will read this

The only thing to remember is not to give money blindly to anyone. I wont fund any kickstarte becouse there is no guarantee tha final product will be what they advertise. Not to mention there is absolutely no control over what they do with our money.

The whole point of crowdfunding is putting your trust in these people, otherwise why would campaigns like this exist? The developers have plenty of opportunity to show you what they've got before you lay down the cash. I pledged on Dreamfall Chapters kickstarter but i based my decision on my desire to see the story completed, the pedigree behind the game, what was a clear passion to make a game that stands up to the quality of the series, and what they offer with there package is worthwhile, if you decide you want it.

It's all about mutual trust, it's not just an empty decision.

They also tell you exactly what they spend your money on by the way.

Sure, if you trust them feel free. Developers constantly tell things which turn out to be untrue so the fact they are saying how they spend money doesnt mean much to me.

Yeah, basically developers that don't have your direct funding have the opportunity to lie. But the people who publish their game through Kickstarter are a different type of developer. They're grateful and will do everything in their power to deliver and even offer more, through updates. These people don't lie because of the direct connection they have with pledgers. Pledgers will know.

I'm used to crowdfunding, whether it's Indiegogo, PledgeMusic or this, and believe me, it's for the true fans. I've never been disappointed, because these people deliver based on a level of honesty and genuine respect that is not present in other forms of development and publishing.

"For everyone else, research them. You’d google a man or woman you’re about to go out with, and that’s just someone you’re going to at least spend an hour with before never seeing them again."

I don't think me and the author of this article treat dating the same way...
