Who are the people that this fiasco ultimately hurts the most? The designers, the developers, programmers, artists, sound engineers, testers, and the countless people involved with actually bringing the game to life. The people who put their blood, sweat, and tears into the game and worked countless hours over many years to deliver a really unique and compelling game.
Some games force online-only measures onto people. It sucks! Especially when some titles, like these seven, 100% didn't need it.

Ea won because people will still buy the game and more of EA games
People who don't like always online DRM are the winners because these last 5 or so days have been nothing but terrible PR for EA and will definitely make some people (not EA though) think twice before going this route in the future.
Let's hope for all our sakes, companies use "SimCity" as an example of how always-online DRM is more hurtful to the consumers and themselves.
