What PS4's Hardware Means for Gamers

1985FM takes an in-depth look at the hardware for the next PlayStation, and its possible ramifications on the buying decisions of gamers, and on gaming itself.

Great article. Sony really seems to have carefully thought out the PS4 platform, business model and overall technology behind the machine which will give devs all the tools they need to unleash their creativity with unprecedented graphic detail. Can't wait...

Damn, you gave his whole life.

Either way this was a really good article. I like how it details the system specs so you can understand them. I guess I am one the 'KNOWING' because I knew what this generation was about. Its not about graphics this time around, though they will be slightly improved, its about the physics of the games, the AI, the reduced latency, etc... these things were missed the last generation.

And I know I will get disagrees for saying this, though we had some great games this generation it was one of the worst in gaming history. Don't get me wrong, we came a long way this generation but devs messed up a lot. Think about it, we've had incomplete games, add-ons that should have been in the original game, rendering issues in games, frame rate drops, draw distance issues, loading issues, the list could go on and on.

My point is, when this next generation starts, these new systems from Sony and MS should be able to fix these issues a great deal.

Xbox, wii n PC fans its not too late to join the playstation family we will welcome u in open arms. Xbox 720 going to focuson more kinect. while Wii u..... no comment on thatm wii can not compete with ps4 thats for sure. Pc? it is just too hard to play pc games, when playin games i like to relax on my sofa not trying hard to move the mouse or look for a button on the keyboard. PS4 is the best choice.

HEY!! Enjoy your PS4 kid because at least you get to play games with controllerzzz like I cannot use a Xbox 360 controller on my PC!! Let's not forget that my HD7970 video card does not had HDMI so that means I cannot hook it up to a TV!! OH MAN I'M JEALOUS! Too bad though, that the PS4 will not even rank in the top 40 on the Community Grid or Milkyway@home because of its limited computational power, even with the so called to the metal programming. Too bad the computers that will help find the cure for Aids that rank in the top 40 will not be a PS4. Just be proud to even make it to the top 100 with a notebook processor and mid-range GPU. But hey!!!!! You can play UBER GAMEzzz!!

But, but, but your wrong about it's computational power because it has 8GB GDDR5 and it's SUPERCHARGED. They told me so in the presentation video!! So it's over 9,000,000 that it even beats the supercomputers which are nothing more than a bunch of PC's linked together.. MAN!! So you mean to tell my that NASA needs to talk to SONY and so does The Oak Ridge National Laboratory?? Man that Titan Supercomputer is weak compared to a PS4!! OH man!!! I LOVE YOU PS4.>> You are my DADDY!!

I skipped the PS2 for the most part and did all my gaming on the PC and a great time I had too, what became annoying was the continual need to upgrade and having all manner of problems running games, so I bought a PS3 mainly for the blu-ray and got into gaming on it, no more hassle running games I knew whatever I bought for it would run as it was supposed to, PC,s can be powerful but also fustrating, I miss my PC gaming but not enough to go back.

PS4 will be the best console of this generation!

lovegames7184062d ago

I see fanatical and lame pczzzzzz has a new account and is now "PCpower"....

PCpower4062d ago

I see that you cannot refute my facts. The PS4 will never compete against a PC with an i5/i7 CPU with an HD7870 or better video card. I'd put money on it. Either put up the money or shut up. The PS4 is a gaming machine ONLY! Also, I think it's funny that you assume on I am somebody who made a new account. Shows how pathetic you are.

Gladiator’s Arena review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Even though the Vampire Survivors influenced ‘auto shooter’ genre isn’t long in the tooth, I’m still surprised that it has taken this long for a Roman gladiator-themed rendition to come along – especially with a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 2000 box office hit Gladiator imminent. It’s thematically perfect, with its circular arena in which one man stands alone against hordes of enemies, grabbing loot as they survive one wave to the next."
