IGN- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus Review

IGN:Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus isn't a bad action game by any means. In fact, at moments it can be wildly entertaining, but those moments come bundled with a terrible camera, uneven level design, and combat that tends to cheat you as often as it challenges you. Whether you loved Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 or not, this version's missing features and spotty performance are still impossible to ignore. Simply put, the original Sigma Plus is a better port of a better game, and far more worthy of your time and money.

I wanna know does NG2P really have all of these problems on the performance side?people who own or played the game reply.

NGP?
edit: N4G only does Disagrees

It has some framrate problems. Turning the camera sensitivity all the way up and making the blood purple helps.

admiralvic4062d ago

Outside of the graphics randomly dropping in quality, I never noticed anything.

izumo_lee4062d ago

Like the comments above there are occasional framerate problems & dips in graphics. Other than that the game is not so bad, could've been a better port but nonetheless i am enjoying it.

My only gripe is that there is no multiplayer, would've been a welcome addition when dealing with those insane missions. Got by the first 2 difficulties no problem with the AI but after that it can get frustrating. Not even gonna try the highest missions cause they are impossible without human help.

Finished easy & normal. Halfway through hard gonna kick some lycan ass.

admiralvic4062d ago

I certainly agree about the missions. I found it amazing how the AI went from a useful partner to absolutely worthless on hard. I was able to do the first two and almost the third, but I don't see myself beating Ninja Master or ANYONE actually beating them all on Turbo. (so no one will platinum this game)

poor vita, anxiously waiting for 'its' game

Kingthrash3604062d ago

Its game? What does that mean exactly? Whats the 3ds' s "game"...pokemon? So does that mean its still waiting...after 3 years? Please inform.

Blaze9294061d ago

how about a killer app?

DivineAssault 4062d ago (Edited 4062d ago )

"its game" will be soul sacrifice & then kill zone

edit: Its "GAMES" plus a lot more this year

Blaze9294061d ago

I agree on Killzone - looks hella good. But that's it. To me at least. Killzone would make me buy a Vita again

sherimae24134062d ago

yeah as if castlevania 3ds gets a stunning 4.7 from this reviewer!
poor 3ds also huh?

Blaze9294061d ago

what the hell are you talking about?

Kingthrash3604062d ago (Edited 4062d ago )

Ign reviews for the vita cant be trusted imo ...heck reviews in general are off.
" ngs2p isnt a bad game by any means" is how he starts off a review of a game he rates a 6. Then complains about frame rate and multiplayer. ... granted framrate is a problem, not a killer problem that would make it unplayable. multiplayer... really who care for that. ..these 2 problems are not worth a minus 4 on a total rating. Look below for more accurate scores.

admiralvic4062d ago

To be fair, I never understood the multiplayer complaints in this game. Sure the PS3 version had it, but it HARDLY worked. Not like I would expect a better working version on the Vita.

TheFirstClassic4062d ago

6 isn't bad it just isn't good, so that statement is valid. 6 is "ok" on the ign scale.

Smokingunz4062d ago

First of all, ng2 on the xbox is the superior version.I did not like sigma2 at all compared to the 360 version.anyway, I have ng2 on the vita and I do agree with everything this review said, but its still a good game on the vita non the less.its just about the same game on the ps3.this game is actually a lot faster tha. The first sigma on vita.

PlayStation Vita's 10 Most Technically Disappointing Games

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Despite being the most powerful handheld console to be released in 2011, and being more than capable of handling ports of PS2, PS3, and even PS4 titles when the developers put the effort in, not every company was willing to take the time to ensure that the Vita version of their games turned out well - and as such a large number of games are hugely disappointing on the handheld simply due to the way they run.

In this article, I aim to examine these ports – what was disappointing about them (and why they should have been better than they were), as well as possible explanations on why they turned out the way they did - and ultimately come to a conclusion as to how well the Vita did as a machine capable of handling console ports during its lifespan."

Games of the Year: PlayStation Vita

NZGamer - "The PlayStation Vita, despite being a powerful, and great-looking piece of hardware, has been struggling in the market ever since it released. This is perhaps no better underlined than in this very article; not only did we not have ten "top" games to review on the system this year, we didn't post ten reviews full stop - so the list is made up of our top five (or seven, depending on how you count, as there's a three-way tie for 5th place) instead."

Tearaway is brilliant from start to finish. I think Media Molecule is the most imaginative and creative development team around.

Killzone Mercs is incredible. Tear one, AAA, top grade shooter capable of being right up there with any console FPS. I'm looking forward to the teams next game.

Batman AO got a lot of crap but it's an awesome game. The metroidvania game play fits perfectly in this world and it's right up there with the Arkham trilogy.
