Persona 4 Golden Review | PSX Extreme

It... Did receive a graphic update... It's in HD now. Unless they mean textures and character models aren't HD as well, which would have taken quite a while to do.

Also the game doesn't have japanese voices because of liscensing issues with the voice acting guilds of there wanting compensation if voices are used overseas (essentially doubling cost of English version). Everyone who followed this game to release knows that. YET, this "journalist" doesn't?

When will these so called journalists do some actual research? I down-voted the site due to it's lack of understanding and research prior to posting it's review.

That said, I have to say that for a JRPG the voice acting actually isn't ear tearing. Truly one of the few JRPGs dubbed into English that doesn't make you want to tear your hair out by the roots. I'm in mind of the first Yakuza. It isn't bad if you've never heard the Japanese voice acting, but if you have, the English voices are horrible. Just a personal opinion, haha. :)

8/10 is what i give this game due to its pacing issues, broken gameplay and the cut of the dungeon crawl part.

To someone that wouldnt like the social aspects but likes its gameplay is perfectly valid to not like the game.

And the story is not that great.

Came in here to say this. You can enjoy Persona games even if they don't have great graphics. The story, the characters, the dungeon gameplay are all great. The game is no where near an 8, it's a perfect 10, in my opinion.

@CaptianSheep You hit the nail on that one! This game is amazing! I pray for persona 5 also comes on vita:) ( And ps3) Because it always is something i played on the playstation brand. OT Hopefully vita.. this game playing on the go was a dream beyond my wildest dreams

P4 is one of the best games, and with upgraded graphics and extra stuff to do the Vita version is the definite version.

I don't see how 8/10 is not a good score? You guys need to tone it down...Honstly as long as this game receives more than an 8 it's more than valid.

The reason why I say at least an 8 is because i can see how some wouldn't like the fixed camera or the social aspect of the game.

I personally love the social and the wandering around, but the dungeon crawling (since I did it before) is just meh for me. The battles can also be a little over whelming, sometimes WAYYYY to easy other times ridiculously hard.

I personally give it a 9.0, the game is literally making my travels that much more to look forward to. This + ninja gaiden 2 will be taking up a good chunk of my time, I will def be platnuming Persona 4, but ninja gaiden 2 seems impossible :) lol

I'd give it bout an 8 out of 10. What's wrong with that? It's a good game, I like the social shit, relationships, setting, and bosses can be fun but its not perfect nor the best jrpg as everyone says here. It's highly repetitive, school, job/date, dungeon, fuse personas, repeat for 100 hours. The story is pretty thin although the characters help make up for it. Lastly the actual gameplay isn't great. Dungeon crawling is boring and the combat isn't bad but it gets boring also outside of bosses. It's a great game and great overall package but saying its not perfect isn't blasphemy it's honesty. I liked P3 more due to the darker story and all but both are amazing. It's one of my fav jrpgs but it has flaws as do most games.
