Why, wasn't really hard to figure out that it was just a timed console exclusive.
This game was one of the best shown at the PS4 announcement.

Puzzle games? hmmm.. How about no?

dgonza404071d ago

Very close-minded of you.

Dude this isn't just a puzzle game, how can't you comprehend that ?

SpadeX4071d ago

@dgonza40:
I thought everyone has his own taste of genres, or am I wrong? Should I follow what you like maybe? Don't get me wrong, I love solving puzzles in Uncharted and Tomb Raider, but I'm not into puzzle-only games.

@3-4-5
Well, according to the trailer itself and Wikipedia as well, its just a 3D puzzle game, but I'm looking forward to try it anyway when it comes out.

What?? Why is this game a timed exclusive? Since this was announced for PC like two years ago I just assumed it was multiplat on every system. Stupid moneyhats.

I'm really excited to play it, I hope alternate console owners get the chance too.

I think the developer said that the game will LAUNCH EXCLUSIVELY ON THE PS4 which usually means that later on it will release on other platforms.

The good thing about this is that the 720 will get extra content because of the MS POLICY.

"This game was one of the best shown at the PS4 announcement."

If Deep Down was real time then that was it for me.

MacDonagh4071d ago

It's Myst.

Not that's a bad thing.

BlackWolf4071d ago

Well, I didn't see that one. But it's not a bad thing. As many people get to play promising games, the better.

Dragos754071d ago

Not a big deal. I will be getting this for PC anyway.

I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out the appeal of this game when it was shown at Sony's conference a few days ago. I know it's made by Jonathan Blow, I know he made Braid (which I have played), but I don't know why I should be excited about this game. What was shown looked incredibly boring to me.

Can someone explain to me what this is about, what I'm missing there? :/

ElectricKaibutsu4070d ago

I just thought it looked relaxing and pretty, like Journey meets Myst. It was the game I was looking forward to the most, although, I don't know why Sony would pay for timed exclusivity... Who would buy a PS4 to play The Witness a couple months early?

Come Join Me in the Cult of The Witness

The Witness might be one of the best games ever made. A fun, frequently frustrating study on mysteries, humanity and a love of true magic.

The Witness is pure brilliance. I platinum'd it on PS4 and recently replayed it on PS5. It's definitely an incredible experience that requires no spoilers so just let the island guide you. Yes, the puzzles can get tough but they are never beyond completion so take come back and go see other things. There is also a ton of storytelling and mystery in the visuals. The Witness is the first game I have played that really took my mind to new heights of creative thinking and perspective. This game is more than meets the eye and 100% a masterpiece.

100% agree! This game offers such a unique challenge.. growing up I used to think that Midnight Resistance was tough, then Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.. fast forwards to Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Destiny's Raids.. but this game was on another level. And when you finally finish it you feel great satisfaction! Trippy ending too 👌🏻

Everyone should also try Superliminal.
