Crysis 3 Graphics Comparison - PS3 vs PC vs 360

@Dylila To me it's not that the PS4 embarrassed PCs it's just that the games embarrass PC. It's up to developers to create the game and if developers are just porting some half ass game from console to PC of course it's going to be limited and look like crap compared to if it was PC exclusive with real effort placed into the game. We all know that a game built 100% for PC would have to be dumbed down just to run on a console. I'm sure Killzone would run amazingly on PC if ported right but if it was built for PC then it could be so much more.

PC hardware surpasses consoles. Even if the PS4 is next-gen technology, the hardware is still relatively mid range this gen. It's also because of pricing.

Good luck with that. I have the same graphics card that's used on the PS4 (7850) and 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM plus 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM on the GPU, not only my PC struggles to run Crysis 3 at max settings but also I have yet to see a game with an extreme visual fidelity like Killzone Shadow Fall on my system.

Crysis 3 is a gorgeous looking game but it's not a next-gen title. I'm sure Crytek can do wonders with PS4 but people claiming that Crysis 3 looks better than Shadow Fall are either in denial or have terrible visual senses. Crysis 3 is basically Crysis 2 on steroids while KZ Shadow Fall has a never seen before geometry detail, view distance and millions of polygons all over the place. Hell, even the bricks on the ground are perfectly modelled, it's not your tpyical tesselated/parallax mapped objects. You really can not compare ANY current-gen game with that, that's simply another league and a step forward to CGI-quality graphcis.

I know PC gamers have been messing around with DX11 visual effects for a long while now as I tend to have a good gaming rig right next to my consoles as well, but next-gen games are more than that. I know they look kind of similar to PC gamers as you're familiar with those effects already but the devil is in the details, not in the effects. People comparing Crysis 3 with next-gen games are actually comparing apples to oranges, I'm afraid.

Funny thing is, that's what a lot of people will say about the difference between Wii U and PS4.

Beyond a certain point graphics-wise, the dollars spent just don't justify the on screen difference.

This video is a horrible representation of what the PC version actually looks like. Here's some screens of the game maxed out running at 1080p (Click the gear to show full resolution). Even these screens don't do the game justice as it looks even better depending on what type of TV/Monitor you're using. That, and seeing it run in real-time.

Crysis 3 is by far the best looking game on the Xbox 360, period. PC will always look better. These comparisons are useless...U need to compare Crysis 3 console version to other console games. Anyways Crytek did a marvellous job on all platforms. Why do people need to bash this game? Everbody should have played this game without prejudice....u will be convinced of it's excellence. Crytek is way beyond most console games...remember EVERYTHING IS REALTIME all the time no pre-baked shadows/lightning/all scenes and backgrounds are realtime objects no paintings as BG. Wake the f up...This game is unprecedented on consoles!!!

I think crytek will have a say in the specs of the 720 just as epic did with the 360. Crytek and MSFT have been working together in the background for a couple of years now.

I couldn't see any difference between the ps3 and 360. PC looked a bit sharper to me. I think they hyped the graphics of crysis 3 up so much I was expecting more on the PC version. Crysis 1 looks better to me.

In all honesty neither version looks that distinctly better than the other except the higher resolution the PC provides. Everything else is just not significant enough of a difference. I'd take the version that plays best.

I like crysis but crytek should just focus on next gen consoles instead of making sub-hd benchmarks on ps3 and 360.

I think next gen Crytek will go back to the gameplay of Crysis and Crysis Warhead. They had huge open levels for you to play in, and you could literally play any way you wanted. PS4 definitely has the power to do that, and the Xbox 3 likely will as well, so I don't see any reason for them not to do it.

Its a nice looking game.

AI annoys the crap out of me though.
As long as they have line of sight, those guys see you, even if your far away, and crouched and not moving.

Its not realistic at all and it forces you to over-rely on the cloak.

Im a sneaker and dont like to be seen, so I pretty much dont break cover unless cloaked where as in game like Farcry you could use grass and bushes as cover or just keep your distance and not stand or run in their line of sight and you would be alright.

Ive had guys in crysis they technically could see my ankle on a platform over them or see me in between two barrels from a hundred meters and just immediately shoot. plus as soon as one knows, they all know.

And why just like Farcry which are both heavy stealth games do they not let you drag bodies? Seems a really odd oversight. I can pick up a steel crate but not a body.

PS4 is an impressive looking piece so far, but I have to say that PC is, and will always be ahead. I get consoles for exclusives, and only that. Killzone: Shadowfall looks amazing, but is not on par with Crysis 3 on PC with ultra settings. I am ecstatic to play the next installation in the Killzone series though! I don't wanna cause an argument, and that's all. Thank you for reading.
