Borderlands 2 developer gives free loot to fans in the middle of the night

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, stayed up late this morning in order to award fans today with new codes good for "Borderlands 2" golden keys inside the popular co-op shooter. The developer is known for regularly handing out the SHiFT codes good for in-game loot which helps keep his fans happy.

Yeeeeah sorry Randy. It's gonna take a lot more then that to redeem yourself.

You obviously expected to much from a game based on a movie... never do that unless you WANT to disappoint yourself.

It was destined to suck from the beginning.

That is unless your talking about his nonchalant attitude towards glitches and whatnot... then yeah I guess your right.

I am. I never bought the game in the first place and I just had a feeling he'd screw people over. I haven't even played BL2 yet because I'd rather save 30 bucks then give $90 to this lying bastard.

Edit: And that's another reason. I wondered how they'd managed to make so many big DLC packs in such a short amount of time when the first Borderlands came out. Now I know and I won't be buying any of their games brand new again.

BanBrother4072d ago

Yeah they have to be going into damage control after the Aliens CM fiasco. This is like the Lance Armstrong thingy all over again.

Gearbox have damaged their reputation so much. Out-sourcing DLC, and a WHOLE FREAKING game. Plus, although they didn't make DNF, their name is on it. So they have only Borderlands to their credit really. I thought the BIA released this gen was horrible tbh.

BlaqMagiq244072d ago

Agreed. Personally I'll let DNF slide since I think they just wanted to see it come out. No one really wanted to work on it and at that point most people just kinda stopped caring when it came out except for diehards.

But there isn't any excuse for what they've done so far. I mean damn, Aliens Colonial Marines put Gearbox in a whole different light. I wanna say they're almost as bad as Capcom nowadays.

These are given out pretty much every other day from Randy/Gearbox. Not really news..

Excalibur4072d ago

Exactly, I don't understand way some folks are still freaking out over getting these "great keys", they give crap loot.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series

Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground

Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3

And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

Gardenia460d ago

I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.

dumahim460d ago

No one liked the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Top 10?

toxic-inferno460d ago

I don't know... It was a strange addition to the game, and the parts of the game where you had to fight in it were tedious. But driving it around Gotham felt brilliant.

Anyone else have a small but noticeable delay in aiming on Borderlands 2? Anytime I move the aiming reticle, there is maybe a quarter of a second (250ms) delay before it moves. Happens in both Handheld and Docked.
