I wonder when we'll see a PS3 price drop? They'd be smart to do it now, and sell as many as they can before the PS4 launches.

MadLad4079d ago (Edited 4079d ago )

I've put off on the PS3 up until now. Was going to grab one Black Friday when they were having great deals on them, but I wanted to wait and see how backwards compatibility would be handled with the PS4.

A price drop sometime this year would be a nice thing for me.

I'm surprised they didn't announce a price drop at the event. I thought I heard rumors of a price drop but then it didn't materialize on stage.

it was a PS4 reveal event, E3 is going to be the show for the entire playstation business

They have to do it soon. I am personally without a PS3. As all my games are on PS3 as I was going to get another one this month. I was going to get the Crystal White version by the last week of February / 1st week of March. Now, that PS4 is around the corner I have to stop to reconsider.

I can't afford to spend $300 on a PS3 in March only to have the PS4 release for $400 in September. So what is the best thing to do?

Well, the smart thing to do is to hold on to my money and wait.

If the PS3 cost a smaller amount of money say, $200, then I could risk it, or even eat it. But I don't know that that will happen.

If the PS4 was going to cost $600 or $700, I would know that I couldn't buy one at release and then go ahead and buy a PS3 now. But I don't know if that will be the case either.

The PS3 should have a price cut, but I don't know when or how much it will be. The PS4 will release this year, but I don't know what month it will release or how much it will cost, or if I will truly lose the ability to play all of my PS3 games. Right now, it is impossible to make a good decision; so I keep my money in my pocket until I have more information.

not until they shrink the CPU, because it seems that the superslim has the same silicon as previous slims

Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69519d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop519d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard519d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi519d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin519d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus526d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer526d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
