first 10 minutes Lady Gaga will take the stage and do a few performances.
Next 10 minutes Kaz Hirai will come on stage and pull a ps4 out of his pocket and demo Ridge Racer.
Next 10 minutes they'll demo that new Yodeling game, that everyone around here has been talking about, followed by a 20 minute feature about Wonderbook 2.
The next five minutes will be Ken Kutaragi giving a few last words and giving an introduction to a feature video of new games comming to the PS4 followed by a 5 minute long Blue Screen of Death.

How? 8GB of RAM is nice for a console, but PC hardware already outclasses it in terms of power, today. With the likes of the Nvidia Titan GPU releasing soon, when the PS4 finally does release it will be fair from cutting edge.

Console developers can program direct to metal, PC devs cannot. They can optimize their programs for 8 cores and unified memory architecture; PC devs cannot. GDDR5 has greater bandwidth than DDR3-1600 SDRAM.

If devs begin optimizing for heavy multi-threading, expect to need to meet that capability in order to play the same games. Console ports already suck, don't expect them to try much harder next gen either.

But Gaikai isn't the god awful service that many were thinking. Thank god.

It's more of digital download service, not a game streaming service. Allowing you to try demos faster and preloading games onto your PS4. Nothing wrong with these aspects.

Thank god. Gamers and developers rejoice! You still pay your retailers who pay developers for games, and you're not paying a flat fee to be divided amongst all the devs (in a horrible unfair way).

Though still more to be told.

I wonder what the lag is between what's on screen and what's on the Vita. Probably not as good as Wii U, as you can have the TV off and still play, but probably won't be able to interact in real time between both like a Wii U. Still a valuable addition though.

Liking the online features (gaikai,remote play, etc) but its still a lot of theory, we will have to wait and see its execution.

The Sony presenter said that PS3 games would not be native backward compatible on PS4 and when they showed the components like cpu, gpu, 8gb RAM, etc. They never once mentioned that it had a disc drive or blu-ray. So, will the PS4 not have a disc drive? That would mean no physical media.

I was worried but just saw an official spec list and it showed a 6X CAV Blu-ray drive, so I feel better. Now I just want confirm that always online is not required to play single-player games and used games can still be used. Great games... that we've already seen.
New controller, full of features... that nobody seems to know how to use, since there wasnt even an explanation.
Tech demos.
Two sequels to great games (Infamous and Killzone), and some other games wich nobody will pay attention to.
Zbrush in PS4. With move.
We will support the vita. You can use it instead of your TV.
Square enix showing an old video.

No gameplay? You were watching the wrong stream. There was real time gameplay of at least Killzone: Shadow Fall and Watch Dogs.
Also yes they had new games. Knack, The Witness, Killzone: Shadow Fall, inFamous: Second Son, that team racing game with a forgettable name.
The console won't be out before holiday season, and you need to know how to use the touchpad right now? Have a little patience and use your imagination.

Nothing interested me about this other than The Witness and the new Final Fantasy game that's apparently getting developed.

All that other stuff was the same tired, blockbuster bullshit that I don't give a crap about.

Don't care about Destiny or Diablo in the slightest, don't care about Infamous whatever it's called, don't care about Killzone, don't care about Capcom's game, don't care about any of this stuff. Videogames are set to become what mainstream blockbuster films have becomea and Watchdogs just seems kind of like every other open world game but gimmicky. You can largely count me out.

The Witness I care about. That looks like an intelligent and intriguing game, made by an intelligent person. That's the current in gaming I'm going to follow- the actually unique games. The organizers should have at least given us some hints or even a short teaser video footage of PS4 console for us to salivate further..

It seems like the potential is there but they may have wanted to give the stockholders something to cheer about before march. They didn't show what the new eyetoy was capable of. They didn't even show the system or what the new controller was capable of.

I am not understanding the love affair with Killzone. The last one flopped horribly and this the the game they chose to showcase and it didn't even look that good. It looks like a ratchet and clank fps. No mention of their big titles.

I am still going to get one eventually but they could have done alot better than what they did tonight.

They should have announced a Ps4 version of the Last Of Us.

I was disappointed with Blizzard and Diablo 3 port announcement. The Square Enix presentation IMO was god awful, the video was just unappealing to me. Watch Dogs, Destiny, and everything else was great. I wanna see Microsoft's rebuttal.

I didn't expect full specs, or playable demos for attendees - or even a price or firm release date.

But I at least expected to see a picture of the console.

I mean it didn't even have to be turned on, or plugged into a monitor.

Its a simple marketing strategy...it's annoying but I can see why Sony did it. Microsoft are yet to reveal their system, so Sony can afford to wait until E3 to reveal the actual console....between now and then they'll just build the hype train up again...simple marketing strategy.

I just think it's become easier for MS to top that reveal. Can we call it a reveal? I mean we didn't see the console, or anyone playing it, we just saw some videos - some 9 months old - that we were told were "running on PS4".

After that presentation, I'd argue that the reverse was true - that MS now has all the time they need for their reveal - which will come closer to the actual release date - when the "hype train" will run straight into actually releasing the system. Before people have a chance to get hyped, then get bored of waiting.

Remember - the PS3 was "revealed" a fortnight before the 360 - which came out a year earlier?

Does what the box looks like really matter? I think it was super smart on Sonys part.

All we needed to know is what the system can do and what the controller will look like.

The Cloud gaming deal just solidified Sonys spot next go round. I like their vision.

For me....win. Yes, the games look good now on current gen and will continue to look better beyond.....but this was a good show.

Cloud strategy was really great, I am not sure if MS can match that one. It is a part open to problems when it first launched, but I'm sure they will improve.

Also agree the console itself is just a decoration. everyone knows many colors and version of it will come.

Anyway this was enough for me to make my decision to buy PS4 day1.

Looking forward to all the Vita integration with the next generation.

I have a feeling in my bones that Vita and PS4 are going to bring SONY back to the forefront of groundbreaking gaming like they did with PSX and PS2. It is almost as if they took a wrong turn with PS3 hardware, did the best they could and they are now going back to square one. Building with devs in mind first and bringing them little limitations and ultimately getting the gamer the best experience possible.

2014 is going to be very intersting. I wonder what Microsoft has lined up with their next generation and Kinect integration.

I gotta say I'm intrigued. I havent owned a sony system since the original playstation but I really like how the ps4 is coming together. They are improving upon the ps3 and creating a experience that seems to be very intuitive. Some of the social features do feel like extra fluff but for the most part I like the direction that they are heading. Spec wise you can't really argue against them either its got a whole lot of potential. Looks like it's gonna be a ps4/wii u combo for me next gen. Time to start saving up.

Conference was great about 8.5 for me. Square Enix part was really boring and same tech demo thats on the internet already. Only two big devs that wasn't mention was Naughty Dog and Santa Monica. I can't imagine what their going to do with the new hardware they get to play with in the PS4. Sony laid it down on MS tonight for the most part, ball is in MS court now.

On a side note with 8gb of ram there should be no excuse from Bethesda now about not enough memory.

SONY did exactly what they set out to do: Create hype and give just a smidgen of exposure to create a wave of "ZOMG!111!!" PS fandom until E3.

Make no mistake - They're here to sell a PRODUCT, not to change the world. They didn't show actual details because they WANTED PS fans to bow down and pray to their idol so they could have a lot of energy going into E3.

Think I'm wrong? This wasn't called the "Playstation 4 reveal" or the "Playstation 4 announcement", it was called the "Meeting", where a bunch of SONY-related developers, engineers, etc. get together and merely DISCUSS something in a somewhat vague fashion.

Nice to know that for all of our chest-thumping about respect and dignity, a meeting about vague potentials can still rile up an entire fanbase like God himself showed up.

Day one purchase for sure, Looks like we're lookin at an awsome launch lineup. Sony's coming out of the gate with the bar set high this gen. Should be an exciting start to the next gen!
