i agree, with games like little infurno, indie games can be creative as they without worrying about the big suits who try to dumb down games just for a sale. the wii u is definitely the place for indie developers, with more and more major third parties, going the thq way, indie gaming may be the next gen in gaming, and the wii u with a year head start is already the next gen system to own!

And if Nintendo can get lots of great indie games coming out in between their big first-party releases, I'd be pretty happy. I'd be much happier if there were actual big third-party games also coming. But this would lighten the blow.

yup, i second that motion as well!

Good to see Nintendo finally did right by the Indies,
-I think that they always intended to but they messed it up due to a host of different factors.

I hope that the Indie who is redoing the Baldur's Gates reconsiders giving the WiiU a version.

I also want the Foosball Game (seen in the N. Direct last month) it was pretty Genius.

Also indie devs dont need a publisher to put a game on the Wii U eShop and dont need to pay for updates.

Yodagamer4082d ago

And with nintendo's new policy they don't even need to have a public office. Wii u is gonna be like the dreamcast, with inovative thoughtful games because of the indies, except it will be successful.

These indie devs will become bigger than the big boys if they keep up the amazing games,it also makes big publishers take note, eshop is easily the best digital platform for quality games besides STEAM.

That's actually cool! Glad to see some Wii-U love

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Cacabunga4d ago

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Stevonidas3d ago

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.
