Sounds good on paper.... But come on a game based off a movie? Most likely a barely mediocre game not worth anyone's time or money.

If it was to be a good game with decent dev time and not just the usual cash in , it wouldnt be just announced today

Guillermo del Toro Would ‘Wholeheartedly Support’ a Pacific Rim 2 Oculus Rift Videogame

Last week’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) played host to some inspiring new virtual reality (VR) experiences featuring a number of big movie and television franchises. Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim was one such title to be featured as part of a unique VR production, and if the film creator had his way there’d be more yet to come.

Love to see that.

There are also a heap of other cool Japanese robot cartoons from the late 70's early 80's that would be great to experience with VR-tech. They are really the genesis of these Pacific Rim robots.

May not be as popular and even primitive by today's standard but still very effective with great stories.

Daimos - a huge truck that turns into a robot were the idea of a human's physical movement controls the entire robot - ( http://www.youtube.com/watc... ).

There are also others - Voltes V, Mazinger Z etc.

Pacific Rim VR Experience Headed to Comic-Con

VRFocus - The closer we get to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2014, which opens its doors later today, the more obvious it has become that virtual reality (VR) will play a huge part of the show. 20th Century Fox has already revealed two VR experiences based on its X-Men and Sleepy Hollow franchises that will be shown off at the event, and Warner Bros. has joined in with a VR experience for its upcoming movie Into the Storm. Today sees another studio revealing a VR experience for the event as Legendary Pictures has announced a new VR experience based on 2013′s Pacific Rim.

Well...I'm pissed. I was working on my own version.

Legendary pictures is a horrible studio. but I'll take any VR experience so glad to hear it anyways.

Give me PR2 please! It was one of the best Monster Movies of the last few years. Not taking itself too seriously with plenty of Silly and Melodrama while having some really interesting Monster designs. So much better then the new Godzilla from the USA where you hardly see the Monster :).
