Wow, it looks really good in this poxy little 720p youtube vid.

Yeah, off screen footage in a horribly lit room really brings it to life too.

1. Stupid idiots! Learn to use FRAPS or an alternative and record on SCREEN!

2. FAILURE = Non 4K recording camera, You-Tube is not 4K, my monitor is not 4K so just exactly how am I gonna experience the fidelity of 4K?

3. 4k is total hype made up by TV manufactures to trick consumers into thinking they need to yet again run out and buy another $5000 TV (estimated price of 4k TV's once prices fall from the current level of $20K)

4. 4K only benefits TV's that are 60" or bigger by adding more pixels to raise the level of fidelity.

5. once 1080p was reached there were plans for 1600p and 2K but TV manufactures knowing this is all CRAP decided for a bigger jump to 4k and a future jump to 8K

6. have fun cause 4k will be all compressed to hell when they begin 4K broadcasting which right now DOES NOT exist anywhere.

7. The increasing resolutions of TV's only allow you to have a Larger screen and see more details while sitting further away.

So a 100" 4k TV viewed at 20 feet will be just as good as a 30" 1080p TV viewed at 6 feet!

ZoyosJD4087d ago

1/2. agree, although youtube does host some 4k content. ex: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

3. http://www.youtube.com/watc... prices are going to drop like rocks.

4. My eyes don't see that to be the case, but your probably reiterating what someone on the internet said.

5. 2k is barely bigger than 1080p. So close that 1080p is considered one of the 2k resolutions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

6. http://mashable.com/2013/01... (already this year)
http://www.reuters.com/arti... (next year)

7. so I should have stuck sitting 15 feet from my 20" SD TV /s...again I doubt you have seen one if you claim their is no difference.

I play PS3 exclusives, and most MP games on my PS3. I play the Witcher series, Bioshock 1, Gears 1, Crysis series, Mass Effect series, AC series, Halo 1/2, UT, various Bethesda games, L4D, TF, portal, MMOs, and several emulators each with their own collections on PC.

Calling me a liar just shows that you are in denial. Get over it, and go find yourself a PC gaming site while your at it.

Don't act so oblivious running with statements like that. I never even meet my dad. That was the last straw. You are blocked on my end just as well.

R_aVe_N4088d ago

So there is a video of people watching a TV with a resolution higher than we can view it on 720p anybody else see how pointless this is?

SITH4088d ago

On top of that, the commentary is in German.

Bimkoblerutso4088d ago (Edited 4088d ago )

Yeah, no disrespect to zuh Germans, but this is an English-speaking website. Plus Google translation doesn't help AT ALL most of the time, so what's the point?

It's just one more sign that the approval process is totally bunk.

hesido4088d ago

I don't think the video is meant to make us see how beautiful 4K is or verify that the display is indeed 4K, it is accompanies the fact that there is a 4K display running. I think it is just boring to say they demoed a 4K TV in plain text.

FlameBaitGod4088d ago (Edited 4088d ago )

Um 4k resolution ... you can see how much FOV increases, you cant see that much in 1080p. If you couldn't even tell that then LAWL.

ianblake4088d ago

now you can put more icons on the desktop

I'm curious as to how they connected the TV to a PC. If it is via HDMI 1.4 it is limited to 30Hz at 3840x2160, and thus far I have not seen any of these 4K tvs with DisplayPort.

xzendor74088d ago

From the specs at LG's site this TV supports HDMI 1.4 and RGB In (D-sub 15pin) - PC

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave13d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
