Sharp @ CES 2008 launches 32-inch LC-32GP3U LCD at gamers

Engadget is reporting, sharp today at CES, announced in a press conference, gamers are clearly in Sharp's sights for 2008 as an area of corporate growth.

The new 1080p set features a slimmer design and unique swivel stand. A "Game Mode" is said to optimize picture quality for game playing while the remote control allows for a quick swap of inputs.

A "Vyper Drive" mode supposedly "eliminates perceptible lag time between game console input and the TV display."

Available in glossy finishes including black, red wine, and white for $1600 starting now.

1600 for 32 inch model might be pricey for gamers, you can get larger TV display, that are still 1080p.

I can get a 42" Sanyo 1080p LCD for $1,100 at Cosco.

No doubt, but there hoping they can con gamers into their super quick resposne times (under 4ms), and whatever Vyper Drive actually does for gaming.

Sounds over priced for the size.
