Crytek: ‘More Power Is Originally At The Core of What We Want’ From PS4 And Xbox 720

"The last one week has been infested with next generation console news. According to reports Sony will be revealing the PlayStation 4 during a special event on February 20th. Crytek: All they say is nonsense to promote themselves & sell licenses.

Cevat Yerli laughs at your comment.

Crytek are a good example of a company that has been all talk and no action since 2007.

Funny they cant out do what they created back then.

^Don't know about you, but Crysis 3 Hunter's mode is actually pretty fun. And there aren't any other PC games that actually utilize 8 CPU threads as well as Crysis 3 does. For the first time in a long time, there's a measureable difference between gaming on an i5 vs an i7 with the i7 advantage of course.

So Crytek has been true to their words in terms of the technical front, but they are just missing "something" that doesn't propel their games onto something better. Which I think is storytelling.

Persistantthug4093d ago

They keep asking for more and more power, but consoles don't run or work well with this dichotomy.

Crytek needs to learn how to program and optimize better.
There are developers that do a better job then them, so the problems they describe are their own failures.....basically.

push what? . the amount of detail on the copy and paste environments and character modeLs .? . very unique team here

coolmast3r4093d ago

And I completely agree with Crytek.

MmaFan-Qc4093d ago (Edited 4093d ago )

Crytek can yap all day, it wont matter until they do good games and FUN games again.

Highlife4093d ago

Agree, Crytek can you add fun to your games. Being pretty just isn't enough.

plaZeHD4093d ago

Plus the artistic design in Crysis games is ugly.

AngelicIceDiamond4093d ago

I hope next gen games aren't like Cryteks. All look but no muscle!

NotSoSilentBob4093d ago

So in other words they want to be able to continue doing crappy coding and be able to just let the hardware make up for their short falls?

chukamachine4093d ago (Edited 4093d ago )

Crytek don't do crappy programming.

Their engine is realtime. Not pre-baked crap. Hence it takes power to run.

Your asking for a power engine to run on old hardware.

The beta runs @ 60fps on my pc.

And I've just been accepted for the beta of warface, d/l now.

CE5 has a higher framerate but CE3 looks better at times...

I guess this is because CE5 is just supposed to be a Cryengine for VR and not much more

Imortus_san2947d ago

CE3 looks much better, more defenition and more vibrant colors.
