AND THERE WAS NO DISTORTION OF PIXALIDGE ?? . this whichcraft is getting out of hand .. . its like you can so zoom into cars that are passing by, frozen in time, as you take a peek at drivers and passengers? . why? . im getting a wiiU rite NOW!!

Jadedz4089d ago

I wonder if this app could be featured in a software title somehow (I.E - Tiger Woods and the Wii's weather channel).

1upgamer994089d ago (Edited 4089d ago )

Hmmm, I thought this was kind of silly idea when it was announced, but the more I look at this the cooler it gets. Just another added feature to many for Wii U.

wiiulee4089d ago

very beautiful...i can sit home and clearly see the streets i'll be traveling on before i go on a driving trip...makes sense to me

MasterCornholio4089d ago

This is like what i have on my phone and i have seen tablets with the same feature as well.

Pretty neat, i always liked street view in Google maps.

BullyMangler4089d ago

you can actually use your phone as a window into another world . ? like look around with your phone? like you see here? ? .. .okay . then nintendo is making fools of themselves

With all of the WORTHLESS Apps on the I-Phone and Android..

I find it truly amazing that people think THIS App. has to justify it's existence?

This is way more useful than half the stuff on I-Phone right now.

Plus, I see this as a Great Research Tool. Like what if you in another country and you want to make a model of one of the rooms in the White House for a film you are making-

-WiiU has an App for that.

PopRocks3594081d ago

Well, it's pretty much Google Earth (it's even powered by Google). I don't think it's useless, I just see it as some nifty little thing you can also get on your computer or iPhone. Got it for free, so no skin off my nose.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4081d ago

Good,
Point and correction/ edition to my logic.

I have used this on my PC but I imagine the WiiU would enhance the experience a wee-bit.

Never used it on my phone, however.

"Well Said"

BullyMangler4081d ago

YOU: I just see it as some nifty little thing you can also get on your computer or iPhone. Got it for free, so no skin off my nose.

ME: now how is that more immersive than the wiiU gamepads tech??

PopRocks3594081d ago

@bullymangLer

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you saying you want to know how it makes the Wii U gamepad more immersive? The idea is to make the Gamepad a window to just about any place in the world, similar to street view in Google Earth.

I honestly don't see it as anything special myself. Just a cool little app for the family if you want something similar to Google Earth on your TV.

neogeo4081d ago

I played with this for 2 hours today. Yes it's only a fancy version of Google Earth but it was much better on my TV and I like the look around feature of the game pad. Loading was pretty fast and the navigation is easy. I took a few trips down memory lane and visited some old houses I grew up in. I really like the feature to go inside stores and stuff. That kinda shocked me. I was walking down the street in SF and could go inside stores and shops. Nice!

Realplaya4081d ago

OH my I went from japan to my parents house loved it.

Whymii4081d ago (Edited 4081d ago )

How on earth can people disagree with someone saying they enjoyed using the program to see their parents home. Get a life you sad, miserable, little trolls.

Some of you are making it out to be something it clearly isn't more than. It is a little annoying when people act like they have never used Google Maps or Google Earth before.

It is just Google Earth and Maps on the Wii U. This app is not anymore immersive on the Wii U than anything else.

You can do this both on Android phones and the iPhone for quite some time now they even use motion sensors so you can look around just like the Wii U tablet does.. I also hate to burst it's bubble once again but the whole going into stores things has been apart of Google maps for a long time also.

It's called Interior View and it's been here since 2011 and before you go well I can do it on my TV, most phones can stream to TV or even be hooked up to them also.

For you people also saying idiots are disagreeing so much with this for nothing, I think it's because most of you are acting like these features are really new and only specific to the Wii U. I am sure for those who knew these features has been around before then it's pretty annoying hearing people treat it like it's something so different from what it is.

Again I am not shitting on the app just trying to inform those that clearly know nothing about Google maps or Google Earth.

If you enjoy using it so be it but please don't act like some of you are trying to, making it seem like the Wii U is the only device that has this app.. or can use these features because that is far from the truth. The only thing they did was practically change the name to suite the Wii U more.. other than that it's a Google Maps and Earth on the Wii U.

Can't wait for all my disagrees or losing my last bubble for just pointing out something that is fact.

Whymii4080d ago

You're entitled to your opinion and clearly have the time to express it given the length of your post. For some people, the app is new TO THEM and that is why they are excited. Yes, it is powered by Google maps which is broadly available, however not usually on a home console. The integration of the pad and TV is also novel. I'm sure you've downloaded and played with it for a while on your wii u, otherwise you'd be trolling...
