Focus Home Interactive has today teased the revival of the Obscure videogame franchise, a popular survival horror series that made its debut back in 2004. Originally developed for Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC, it’s been a very long time since we’ve heard anything of Obscure, but the upcoming reboot looks set to be something entirely different.
ObsCure: The Aftermath features an improvement of nearly all of the hang-ups that held the first game back.
The console's library of games may be big, but it can all be played on the same couch. Here is a list of the best Co-Op games on the PS2.
Five teenagers. One high school. Endless monsters. The Young Folks dust off the survival horror video gaming collection to shine a light on 2004's ObsCure.
That first image makes me very nervous as to where this reboot will be heading.
I don't think I could call it a "popular" horror series. It really was pretty obscure and I picked it up the first one for PS2 by chance from a bargain bin. It was a fun co-op experience and had some pretty suspenseful moments. Even the cheesy characters were kind of fun. I really loved the Olivier Deriviere soundtrack to the second game especially tracks like "Bad Behavior" and "Corruption with Rage & Melancholy"(He posted the music for free on his website).
Looking at the image for the reboot, I think the ad looks kind of off putting to me. Obscure was never cartoony & colorful. It's nothing detailed yet but we'll see.
That picture effin scary
Well, that is scary.
Ohhhh nooooooo. I bet it's gonna a top-down twin-stick shooter. I remember playing Obscure: The Aftermath on Wii and this looks nothing close to it.
