IGN Live Presents: Aliens Colonial Marines

A live stream of Aliens: Colonial Marines

What is the music? It is rather annoying haha! Hurry up with the archive IGN :)

Jacobster4092d ago

Hmm I am sure it wasn't this tune you suggest because Clint Mansell is amazing! I was referring to the music that was playing when waiting for the stream archive to appear, which they removed shortly after my comment :) Glad to see someone has taste in music though :)

Jacobster - You gotta skip to the 3:10 mark that's what they were playing before and after.

and yea, love loads of music

Wow, this guy sucks. He taps the stick instead of moving it smoothly. He cant aim.

Close range kills and no acid damage?!

I hope this isnt normal mode because the Xenos die extremely fast.

Nitrowolf24093d ago

There is acid damage, in fact he dies at one time by it in both Multiplayer and almost in Singleplayer.

This guy does suck though, especially in multiplayer when playing as an Alin. He doesn't use the walls, he goes in alone, ugh!!

BTW Xenos will die the same even on harder difficulty, that was confirmed in the stream. Of course they are going to die fast though sicne your going against hoards of them. But if you noticed at the end in Badass mode, it hid longer and actually stopped moving so it would be tracked. That was a single one to.

Jacobster4092d ago

Did they show any survival mode? I skipped quite a bit!

ThanatosDMC4092d ago (Edited 4092d ago )

Yeah, i typed this 20 minutes into the video. The acid burst from a dead xeno is almost negligible. Glad they copied the health system from AVP3.

I thought this was the console version but apparently this is the PC version. I hope this was an earlier build because those random disappearing bodies and tails clipping through the floors and AI stopping during combat were horrible.

In the ultimate badass mode, the guy tried to stop shooting so the Xeno would kill him but the AI just stopped moving on the ground for no apparent reason. I love the game all ready but I hope glitches like this are gone from release.

I thought the Escape mode would last longer, along the lines of L4D, but it seems to be only one level. The Xenos just get teleported in the midway through the level. It also seems that the Soldier class is the way to go. If one Soldier could do that much damage to five marines, then three of them attacking from different directions would be a slaughter fest. Unless, of course, there's a marine that has a one-hit kill flamethrower. Grenade damage to self doesnt do as much damage either, but I dont know if that had anything to do with armor. The initial armor makes the marines really durable.

Edit: I wish they had Infection mode but have it on Ultimate Badass mode so it goes by faster.

Roundtable: Games That Should Have Received a Sequel

Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
