7 Ways Square Enix Can Redeem Themselves

There are few companies in the video game industry who have fallen from grace in their fans’ eyes as much as Square Enix have. In a mere decade, they have gone from the company that had legions of faithful fans to the company who have legions of disillusioned fans. Square Enix have become living examples of what is wrong with the Japanese game industry – from overblown budgets spent after servicing their CGI fetish to incessant spin-offs and ports creating a “franchise fatigue”.

Hmm, well that Ip has continued in the Xenosaga and Xenoblade games. They are it's successors. Like Demons to Dark souls and Final fantasy 1-13

A sequel nor a prequel from Xenogears would definitely would not fit the story. As Xenogears explains the past and has it's ending fully committed to an Ending. Although maybe before the 'god' was captured could be a prequel, but at that point it may as well not be Xenogears and S-E are just using the name

I really would love Bushido Blade 3 and I think it would be really awesome (it's a Enix IP) if they remastered EVO The Search for Eden for PSN/XBLA. It's one of my favorite games back on SNES. Also, I know it's completely overdone but I want a remastered Vita version of Chrono Trigger with trophies like the PSP FF1&2 got. Something really polished with redone lighting effects and such.

All the rest are still wanted as well like KH3, FFv13 etc etc.

Bring back gameplay. Don't make titles only about cut scenes. Base gameplay on what you'd do in a cut scene.

Versus is looking ever more like a ps4 launch title. If they are releasing Lighting returns, no way they will release versus xiii to compete with their own game, unless is ps4 launch title. That would explain why they keep saying that it will be worth the wait, and why they haven´t showed any more of that game. I´m guessing that they will problably show something of versus after the ps4 is oficially announced.

Given that the development of Versus and the Luminous engine were intertwined that may be a tempting transition for Square.

(Though by then they might've turned Noctis into Jesus in an appeal to Westerners.)

That game was awesome i completely forgot about that until this comment they should definitly remake or sequal it.

I do actually believe versus may be either a launch title or not far of from initial ps4 release because its a sony exclusive but then how would that be making their fans happy when they got to pay for a new console (unless the scale of the game can compensate them im sold)

Focusing on Versus and making A new Sequels for Kingdom Hearts , Parasite eve ( Not T3B ) and Vagrant Story will Absolutely Redeem Square Enix .

I completely agree with number 1. I loved FF4.

Exploring more of Ivalice would be great too. They really do have a lot of IPs that they just don't use. Hopefully next gen they make some new ones and explore some old ones.

Just stop focusing on cellphone games and continue to publish and make great games. Unlike most calling themselves "fans" of final fantasy then talk like they have no idea what the older games (besides 7 and 10) were like. I (like many many others) enjoyed the two 13s. Yeah they had flaws but what game doesn't? Anyway lrff13 looks great so far and I'm still patiently waiting for vs13.

Not too keen on the guy's first point... You've gotta have a bit of sci-fi weirdness. Every FF game more or less had it.

And a VII remake is something that just shouldn't be done. It'd be a disaster. It'd be a completely different game. The game's near perfect as it is. Plus they've gotta remake V and VI first.

Sony did say they are going to have support by a 3rd party developer help with the ps4 launch. Probly Metal Gear Soild 5 tho. Idk Square Enix get FF verses out.

Square Enix is doing quite a bit to shift the paradigm.
