The Grand Theft Auto V Delay Should Make You Happy

"Ah yes, Grand Theft Auto V, the latest installment of the much-beloved and much-vilified Grand Theft Auto series. Thursday was a tough day for fans of the series (at this point, who isn’t considered a fan of the series with their sales numbers?) as the title, which was originally slated for a Spring of 2013 release date, got pushed all the way back to September 20th, 2013, pushing it back from Q1/Q2 all the way back to Q3 of this year. I actually am :)

Let them work on the game more, I trust R* with there words

Yi-Long4100d ago

... just release it when it's done and all polished up, and I'll pick it up.

I'm happy that they aren't shoving it out of the door just to meet a deadline, but really want to take their time to make it the best as they can before releasing it.

I'm a patient guy. Also, I'm kinda hoping it will also be released this fall for next-gen consoles (launch-title) in glorious HD.

evilbart4100d ago

It will be in HD on ps3 anyway

BLuKhaos4100d ago

It's a bitter sweet ordeal for me.
On the plus side it wont drop during the middle of my spring semester(assuming the March 24th date was the initial launch date).
But on the negative side, it will now drop during the beginning of my fall semester.

Me to. I've never cared how long it takes R* to release their games. More polish. Plus the day after is my B-Day so I'm pretty sure I already know what I want :D

SavageKuma4100d ago

Yes I am not sad about this information. I rather have the time so I can play my other titles.

csreynolds4100d ago

I for one am pleased that there are still some developers out there prepared to delay their games in order to make them better. The number of IPs that are pushed out unfinished nowadays is disgusting - yeah, I'm looking at you, EA... *cough* Battlefield 3 *cough* Medal of Honor

PhantomT14124100d ago

I am also pleased with the publisher (Take Two) who is willing to give more time to devs, instead of sacrificing quality over the shareholders' mood. It's like Ken Levine said with their delay of Bioshock Infinite.

A2X_4100d ago

At least we have a release date. Lets just hope it's not gonna get delayed again.

BLAKHOODe4100d ago

My copy is already paid for at GameStop. So, when all the big releases hit this Fall, I at least have peace of mind knowing that the biggest of them is already paid for, but I'd rather have had the game this Spring, because I'll have plenty of other stuff to play at the end of the year.. and more than likely, on a new console, at that.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing691d 14h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos1d 13h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy851d 11h ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius1d 1h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
