God of War: Ascension “From Ashes” Live Action Trailer

PS Blog: If you’re an ardent PlayStation fan, you’ve no doubt seen the teasers. Today, I’m extremely excited to share the final, full-length version of our “From Ashes” live action trailer for God of War: Ascension, featuring a special arrangement of Ellie Goulding’s “Hanging On.” This is just about the biggest production we’ve ever undertaken for a God of War commercial or trailer — or for any PS3 game for that matter. We are very proud of how it turned out, and we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.

I found this trailer moving and awesome, because it showed a hint of the human side of Kratos. This was what I've always wanted the franchise show more of because we're all very familiar with his rage-filled and vengeful side already.

Now I understand Kratos...now I understand.

On a side note, those boys surrounding him picked the wrong time to kill him.

Any GOW fan who says they are not hyped for this game after that trailer is a liar. This is going to be EPIC, will it "ascend" above GOW3? only time will tell, all I know is that this is a day one buy for me. In its old age, the PS3 steps it up another notch.

Yesterday I was so disapointed by the GTA V delay, but look at all the awesome games coming out : SLY 4, Bioschock, Ascension, Last of us, Beyond, Tomb raider and more. Surely enough to keep us busy!

The GOW movie has been talked about for years but as far as I know it's dead in the water.

I especially like the part in the end when whoever those people were attacked him from all sides in his moment of grief. i feel sorry for whoever they are because I am certain Kratos would be very angry at that moment.

I am pretty sure that was his army. Kratos was the youngest captain of Sparta's army before he became the God of War.

He may very well kill them all out of rage however because his leadership, lust for power, and this army all lead up to the death of his family.

What is so telling about this trailer is that it humanizes Kratos, makes him to be more than just an angry SOB. There is a reason for his anger & we are in for a ride that is for sure.

I say if it was CGI cause during the PS ALL Stars 'live action' trailer Kratos was definitely CGI.

yeah but live action is live action wether or not there is a huge amount of computer generated effects and alterations to the live characters or scenes.

Not sure I have seen the PS allstars live action trailer, but Kratos is definetively human in this one.

Dude that was awesome but the song killed it. That sounded like a Nickelodeon track. They should of picked something that fits Kratos like thunderous war/classical music.
