Check out a trailer for Wii Street U, powered by Google.
Nintendo has announced new games and release dates for the Wii U/3DS eShops.
Wii Street U is now available as a free download for a limited time on the Wii U's eShop. Here are some screenshots of the application.
With all of the WORTHLESS Apps on the I-Phone and Android..
I find it truly amazing that people think THIS App. has to justify it's existence?
This is way more useful than half the stuff on I-Phone right now.
Plus, I see this as a Great Research Tool. Like what if you in another country and you want to make a model of one of the rooms in the White House for a film you are making-
-WiiU has an App for that.
I played with this for 2 hours today. Yes it's only a fancy version of Google Earth but it was much better on my TV and I like the look around feature of the game pad. Loading was pretty fast and the navigation is easy. I took a few trips down memory lane and visited some old houses I grew up in. I really like the feature to go inside stores and stuff. That kinda shocked me. I was walking down the street in SF and could go inside stores and shops. Nice!
Some of you are making it out to be something it clearly isn't more than. It is a little annoying when people act like they have never used Google Maps or Google Earth before.
It is just Google Earth and Maps on the Wii U. This app is not anymore immersive on the Wii U than anything else.
You can do this both on Android phones and the iPhone for quite some time now they even use motion sensors so you can look around just like the Wii U tablet does.. I also hate to burst it's bubble once again but the whole going into stores things has been apart of Google maps for a long time also.
It's called Interior View and it's been here since 2011 and before you go well I can do it on my TV, most phones can stream to TV or even be hooked up to them also.
For you people also saying idiots are disagreeing so much with this for nothing, I think it's because most of you are acting like these features are really new and only specific to the Wii U. I am sure for those who knew these features has been around before then it's pretty annoying hearing people treat it like it's something so different from what it is.
Again I am not shitting on the app just trying to inform those that clearly know nothing about Google maps or Google Earth.
If you enjoy using it so be it but please don't act like some of you are trying to, making it seem like the Wii U is the only device that has this app.. or can use these features because that is far from the truth. The only thing they did was practically change the name to suite the Wii U more.. other than that it's a Google Maps and Earth on the Wii U.
Can't wait for all my disagrees or losing my last bubble for just pointing out something that is fact.
NE: "Nintendo is launching a new Wii U application in Japan today. The previously-announced Wii Street U can be downloaded for free through May 31."
ha haa . stupid me, i clicked this article just come here and up vote it .. . speaking of which ?
This is a great addition for family's and a good use of the gamepads unique features, really the first real step forward in augmented reality.
haha, everyone can do it in your computer, it is called google map
If you can share pics in Miiverse so people can discuss, it will be really cool. Only problem I see with it would be Nintendo with their Nazi censorship saying people are giving too much personal information about locations. I had someone on Miiverse ask to send me a friend request in a post no one else was in. I said sure and that my ID was the same across all platform. Nintendo deleted my comment and said I was not to give out personal info. It's not like I gave out my address and bank account number... With people sharing locations with this app, they could go crazy with the censorship thing. Anyway... too much beers... sorry for rambling. Looks really cool. Not as cool as the Monster Hunter 3 opening vid, but pretty cool.
its powered by google, it should be called google street view.... not street u
