Watch This Guy Laugh In The Face Of DmC’s Highest Difficulty

Kotaku: Insert obligatory opening sentence about how some people are upset about how DmC is easier than its predecessors. And, sure, that may well be the case—I'm no Devil May Cry expert, and I also haven't tried DmC on anything beyond its third-hardest "Nephilim" setting.

That means I haven't tried the by-all-accounts very tough "Son of Sparda" difficulty, nor have I tried "Dante Must Die," a mode that can only be unlocked by beating the game on Son of Sparda. Up top, we've got SteeleSerpent taking down the game's fourth level on Dante Must Die difficulty without taking a single hit, while earning an SSS rating.

The dude definitely has been practicing.

crxss4101d ago

Can't imagine someone breezing through the final parts of the game on the hardest difficulty with an SSS. Hope someone posts a video of that.

Gazondaily4101d ago

He must have practiced a lot. Well I'm hoping he did.....if he didn't and he plays that good....let's just be glad then that there's no multiplayer mode.

iChii4101d ago

I just hope this dude doesn't get a change of heart and ends up in God of War Ascension's multiplayer. If he does, we're screwed.

MEsoJD4101d ago

Yeah, I just got the pc version and been having a hell of a time learning the new controls... Also while I like most of the game, I must say that they totally fucked Devil-Trigger...

Tony-Red-Grave4101d ago

i don't think they wanted to F up DT seems more lika a plot device. If they keep to the lore then the DLC will have vergil fully unlocking his first.

doomtrain4101d ago

can not believe people actually disagreed with this comment, sheesh even my 2 year old has the ability to admit when he is wrong......

csreynolds4101d ago (Edited 4101d ago )

Some people just live to troll. Ce la vie...

Hicken4101d ago

Probably because people believe that, compared to previous games, this isn't a real display of skill, but a display of the game being too easy.

... which is one of the many things detractors complain about.

largerock4101d ago

Skills for a game that requires no skills.

csreynolds4099d ago (Edited 4099d ago )

Well, we can't all be DMC 'pros' now, can we?

I presume you'll be uploading a video of you playing DMC [insert number 1 - 4 here], evidencing true skill, to reinforce your point, yes? Huh? What do you mean "No"? Oh, I get it; you're trolling on a game that has many trolls...

Sorry, my bad.

everyone laughs in the face of DmC's everything.

Panthers4101d ago

The game is really good if you havent tried it. People are just too focused on aspects other than gameplay. Too bad. If this had been under any other name than DMC it would have been an instant hit.

Knight_Crawler4101d ago

Its fun and you should try the demo if you are still on the ense but be warned the game has been heavly tailord for the casuals and the one button easy combos hold your hnads too much in the game.

Tony-Red-Grave4101d ago

i wouldn't go as far as 1 button easy. the combos are simpler but by no means one button easy.

TronEOL4101d ago

What are you talking about? I doubt most of the people bitching about DmC could do any of what's seen in this video without LOTS of practice. Just like old Devil May Cry (and most hack and slash) games.

DmC CAN be played mashing buttons (just like how I finished DMC1-4 when first playing them, mind you I struggled) but when playing harder difficulties, you NEED to actually play it. DmC turned out fantastic. Get over it.

Big_Mex4102d ago

Really digging the game so far, definitely one of the better action games I've played since Ninja Gaiden Black.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC7h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer8h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya6h ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde6h ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
