"Criterion Games have been busy taking EA's Need for Speed series in new directions over the past few years, but a new tweet from Criterion's Creative Director Alex Ward suggest that the Guildford-based company might be heading back toward their Burnourt series."
Kevin Kevins at Screen-Shaped Eyes notes some thoughts on Bruce Lee (sort of), but mainly on how we play multiplayer games.
Nowgamer:
Burnout Paradise 2 rumours have begun - we pick out five improvements we want to see (and what we want to stay the same).
Alex Ward, a leading man at Burnout creator Criterion Games, has hinted at the possibility of a second Burnout Paradise through his personal Twitter account.
oh shit, that would be a next generation title that would shoot up to number one on my most anticipated list!
oh hell yes. playing NFS: Most Wanted only increased my need for another burnout.
man really :) burnout kicks ass. its a trip we havent seen a follow up in years. game just needs to be around forever ya know.
If it runs half as crappy as NFSMW on pc, I'll be avoiding.
The first time I ever got a refund for a digital game.
Yesss just add in a crash mode for old times sake pleeeaaasseee.
Why? NFS:MW was essentially Burnout Paradise 2! I wish Criterion would go back to its Burnout roots and make a nice looking, 60fps Burnout, similarly to Burnout Revenge on Xbox 360. I guess these companies prefer graphics over solid performance and gameplay. What a shame, I still play Burnout Revenge because of the awesome gameplay and solid 60fps it has.
I actually don't care if it's open world or not, and honestly, seeing the amount of linear, "burnout like" games release and crash and burn in the last few years, doesn't inspire much confidence for any studio to man up and make a straight up linear racer again.
also 60 fps .
the best thing about burnout paradise was the framereate. don't fuck it up criterion.
oh and go back to paradise handling. not hot pirsuit, slow as fuck, boat handling .
YES! I will actually GIVE you money to make it!
