I know someone who does this all the time.. Its so funny how he makes his GF play his nintendo games & she pretends to like it just so she wont ruin his excitement... lol

Rip-Ridah4105d ago

Heavy Rain &/or The Walking Dead has changed MANY non gaming significant others into believers.

caseh4105d ago

Heavy Rain is a winner in regards to the fact you can play with your better half, but they can have input on your decisions throughout the game.

BanBrother4105d ago

Agree times 3. So glad Heavy Rain was mentioned. First thing that came to mind was Heavy Rain and The Walking Dead. Aside from the obvious dance games lol.

The first time my fiancée saw me play Heavy Rain she was hooked. She always use to want me to come off from playing those silly games until that one, I gather she was engrossed in the story and was amazed that games had come so far in storytelling. I recently played TWD and she was captivated by it.
P.S . Did anyone else get a little misty eyed at the end of TWD? I guess age nor sex has anything to do with it but I have to say that Lee and Clementime were my two favorite characters last year. Also as a black male I have to say Kudos for Telltale making the lead character a black male. Wouldn't have made a difference whether he was another ethnicity, as I would have connected the same way. But I certainly have to say that in a world where so few black male characters are portrayed and given the lead role in video games, I found it to be pretty darn cool.

I think something like Journey is also ideal for getting your non-gaming partner to jump in. Its void of all the typical video game stuff like explosions and high scores, the music is fantastic and it is also VERY pretty, and who doesn't like eye candy?

My missus hates FPS games and most other types, but loves House of the Dead and the Resident Evil on rails-shooters, so we have the odd blast together. Go figure!

Most people on this site will be lucky to have a significant other at all.

My wife and I go at it sometimes and she doesn't like games. The kinect has helped in this regard.

Fruit Ninja Kinect
Kinect adventures
Kung Fu high impact
Hole in the wall
wipeout kinect

She will sit and watch me play something like Mass Effect while she reads one of her books. When Im on pc she likes to see me play Civilization 5.

"my wife and I go at it sometimes and she doesn't like games"

glad to hear the kinect helps with it though... xD

ROFLMAO. I just re-read it and got the joke. Oh well, glad I could make someone laugh.

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz266d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher265d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy265d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg266d ago (Edited 266d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
