What deals can PC gamers find in January?

The new year has just begun and already Amazon has featured some amazing deals for PC. Some of the better deals from earlier this month included Spec Ops: The Line and The Darkness II for less than $10 each. Amazon is continuing its month of deals for PC gamers and the sale gets better in the last half of January. GoozerNation has the list, including the games in the rumored 80% off sale.

=( i thought it was deals on hardware not games as i am thinking of getting my pc within the next few weeks. pc games are always cheap so i shouldn't have to worry about that for now

I just ordered a gaming rig from HP and used a 25% off coupon that can be found just by searching the internet for "HP coupons". I went HP over Dell and most others because they provide more customization options. Dell quit allowing us to really "build our own" a year or two ago.

You can build a mean rig at ibuypower.com or elsewhere, but HP had the coupon and I have had good experiences with them in general. Anyway, buy PCs when you can find a mean coupon (25% off for example).

Best place to build a PC is from Newegg. Of course you should never touch dell, DELL SUCKS. The only anywhere decent computers they have are on alienware with all the lights, and they're outrageous.

Spend $800, get a 3.8Ghz AMD FX rig with good 7000 series GPU, 8GB CPU RAM, 500GB HDD, $20 audio card, and whatever else you want. It's not very difficult to build a great PC for cheapish. $800 is a lot of money, but it'll be playing games on Ultra the next 2 years, and high for about 5 years. It's a good investment over all.

Maybe even try Linux out. I know it's not the best for gaming at all, but you may enjoy it for an OS to use when you're not gaming. It's much better than windows in every area besides gaming. Although, with Steambox running a Linux OS, and Steam for Linux coming out within the next year probably, it'll be good to get used to it. I mean, it's free. Don't like it, just wipe the drive and put windows over it. No harm done in testing it out.

Actually most people would think HP>Dell, and I agree on most accounts. But the one thing that Dell has the upper hand over HP is the build. HP computers always have lazy messy wiring, while Dell actually have the case designed to hide the wires in a more useful arrangement.

But yeah there are other factors such as what type of components used, but that's just one thing that irks me about HP.

I used this site to build my computer. They have some awesome pc builds and are always scouring the stores for good deals on hardware parts. They also have awesome help in the forums that are always updated with current deals. You can post exactly what your looking for your pc to do and you will get a ton a feedback on the best route to go.
