We found ourselves in a grassy clearing one bright mid-morning; strangers in a foreign land. I was a man of the world, a seasoned traveller, well-versed in wilderness survival. She was new to this life, wandering around with wild eyed curiosity, and I was grateful she was with me. I led her to a nearby forest and wasted no time displaying my alpha male qualities, relentlessly punching down trees with my bare hands.

With a nice stack of logs under our arms, we retreated to the relative safety of a rock shelter hewn into the side of a cliff face. Once the wood was split and a workbench set up, I spent the entire afternoon making as many different tools and implements as I could think of. She was impressed. I scaled the cliff face before sunset and tapped into a coal vein spouting just above the ridge.

The torches brought some comfort when the darkness came, but that first night was long. I promised her there and then that I’d build her a house, and spent the twilight hours digging in the dirt for the right materials. At first light we left the cave and returned to the meadow.

She laid the foundations and looked on whilst I swiftly erected the walls, correcting me here and there, offering guidance, encouragement, reassurance. As I set to work on the roof, she agonised over the interior furnishings; fussily made it a home. In the days that followed, we added to our little home bit by bit. In my hunter gatherer capacity I took care of the food situation at first, but in time we built a small wheat farm (automated for her convenience) and eventually a barn.

The days passed quickly – they always do when you have a warm bed and safe surroundings.

She would spend her days cooking, decorating, planting crops and flowers and tending to the wide variety of animals we kept. She even managed to tame some of the wild wolves that lived in the nearby woods. They followed her everywhere.

I spent the majority of my time exploring networks of underground caves, meticulously mapping out ore and mineral locations, or scaling snow-peaked mountains in far away places, or wading through dense jungles - sometimes staying out for days in search of a particular commodity.

One day an old friend of ours dropped by to say hello. I tossed him an axe and he helped us clear a patch of woodland behind our house to facilitate further home improvements. She rewarded us with mushroom stew.
Then one day I found what I had been looking for. In the deepest cave of the farthest mountain, I found them sealed into a piece of rock hanging precariously above a lava pit. I risked life and limb to reach them, extracting the gems with care and hurrying home to make a surprise gift.

She wasn’t expecting them; they came as a complete shock. But her face lit up when she saw them. A pair of diamond boots, she was ecstatic.

And then I got laid.

Fruit Ninja Kinect is great fun. 2 player co-op or versus is a riot. Why was there no smash bros or PSASBR? Those are always great choices.

I don't think I could play a game with my wife unless it was turn based, she gets flustered when she has to think quickly, us gaming "together" means sitting on the couch, I play Xbox and she plays Sims3 or Farmville on her laptop. LOL the last time I was able to convince her to play splitscreen was Goldeneye on the N64.
