But character design may take priority over depth. She's also the latest character so is likely that this may skew her popularity.

Alright i don't know the latest FF games, so i cant attribute that generalization to Lightning, and i didn't mean to, but i just meant to say that Japanese people look at different things than most people in the west do, when they try to choose what character is better than the other.

Terra definitely, she was absolutely amazing for a character. Especially the way she struggled to find her place in life after the world ended. Man, I still remember some of those scenes with her so fondly.

I don't think lightning should be top but I'm happy tifa, aerith and Yuna are in the top 4. Tifa especially took me surprise with the emotional depth she has in vii.

Yeah I loved Tifa in FFVII.
Probably one of the most interesting side story's in a FF game. I always remember the scene where she goes on a date with Cloud when they were young and it's all awkward between them lol
