Valve's SteamBox Aims to Change the Game. Can They Pull It Off?

GAMINGtruth's Editor-in-Chief dives deep into the pros and cons of a Valve SteamBox.

"The selection of consoles meant for the living room is growing every day. We already have the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Wii U as far as current hardware is concerned. Soon, in addition to those, there’s the Ouya, NVIDIA’s Shield, Steam Boxes, “Xbox Next” and the PlayStation 4. What are the chances that developers will keep making games for each of those consoles over the long run? I’m leaning toward that being highly unlikely. And by highly, I mean impossibly high."

No they won't pull it off!

LaWiiG4116d ago

Sometimes, I feel like they are going to simply just create another console. Which the market definitely doesn't need.

I can't keep up with all of the consoles!

I think most people will just ignore it tbh...but it is interesting news nonetheless.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.

Make your next GPU upgrade AMD as these latest-gen Radeon cards receive a special promotion

AMD has long been the best value option if you're looking for a new GPU. Now even their latest Radeon RX 7000 series is getting cheaper.

Father__Merrin1d 19h ago

Best for the money is the Arc cards

just_looken1d 18h ago

In the past yes but last gen amd has gotten cheaper and there new cards are on the horizon making 6k even cheaper.

The arc cards are no longer made by intel but asus/asrock has some the next line battlemage is coming out prices tbd.

Do to the longer software development its always best to go amd over intel if its not to much more money even though intel is a strong gpu i own 2/4 card versions.

Telltale shares new images from The Wolf Among Us 2, release 2024

The long-awaited sequel to the 2013 narrative adventure is currently expected out sometime in 2024.

Oh hell yeah! I feel like this was one hell of an underrated game, and I'm glad to see that a part 2 is coming.

This was my favorite Telltale game. I’m definitely going to play this. Hopefully it has less jank than the Telltale games had. I didn’t think it would happen but I’m happy it’s coming

gold_drake2d ago

right? it was sooo good, cant wait for part 2

BlackCountryBob3d ago

Great, loved the first game and happy a sequel is coming but after such a lengthy development, are Telltale gonna be releasing it episodic with non specific time delays between episodes? If it is episodic, they need to have a full set of dates laid out for every episode so we know what we are getting & when like Resident Evil Revelations 2 did, buying episode 1 and not knowing when the rest will come is just unacceptable in 2024.

I always loved Telltale games. They were like those old choose your own adventures books.
