The Walking Dead – ‘Hitching’ on Xbox 360 4GB Remedy

Telltale writes:

"After investigating reports of severe ‘hitching’ (gameplay interrupted by unacceptable freezing or stuttering) when playing The Walking Dead on Xbox 360, we have determined that this issue affects the following only:

- Xbox 360 4GB models not fitted with an internal hard disk drive, playing the disc-based (retail) version of the game

If you are unable to acquire and install an internal hard disk drive for your Xbox 360 4GB, we will supply you with codes to download season one (5 episodes) of The Walking Dead from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace at no charge."

Confused. If you bought a game that won't play on your machine and don't have the ability to fix it, compensation is a downloadable version of the same game that you already have to an already jam packed small memory drive?
Or are they referencing a discrepancy with the disc versus download, and the DL doesn't stutter?

How big is the game download to fill up those 4gb HDDs?

Pretty sure that the 4GB are for system updates rather than content. That at least half of it gets eaten up updates. Which is why allowed you to use USB drives but apparently you still need an external HDD.

this certainly isn't the first time we've seen an issue with the 4GB model.

Its not the issue with model itself! Its the issue with shitty ass developers like telltale games who dont even have time or people to test properly their products. Game works like poop even with hard drive, stutter when camera angels change and bottom text layer pops out. Besides than its ca cell shaded point and click title and it looks worse than many games in the same graphics category like Borderlands .. why ?

Despite putting out other similar properties with Back to the Future: The Game and Jurassic Park: The Game, the products were largely met with a very mixed and ultimately tepid response from the public. The rampant acclaim and runaway success reached with The Walking Dead launched the developer into one of the most anticipated and favourable studios out there with one revolutionary product.

I think the walking dead story telling is amazing. I really love the games and think that they bring the respect of gaming story telling up in the world of entertainment in general :)
