Rhys from Awesome Games writes: 'There are games, and then there are Nifflas’ Games, manned by Nicklas Nygren, somewhat of a veteran on the indie scene. Now, he has his first game for the PlayStation Network, Knytt Underground, the third installment in his cult Knytt series, and as you can tell by that first statement, this is going to be a glowing review. Knytt Underground is not only a logical extension of Nifflas’ previous games, it’s quite simply one of the greatest exploration-based games ever made.'
Hardcore Gamer: For $2, you can get Postal, Expeditions: Conquistador, Knytt Underground, Blockland, Steel Storm: Complete Edition, and Rock of Ages.
Nintendo Insider writes:
It is in discovery that Knytt Underground manages to excite by luring your curiosity throughout its entirety. Broody and evocative, Nifflas signals the emerging rise of the indies on the Nintendo eShop, crafting experiences that rival even the platform holder’s lofty creations.
Matt of RGN writes, "Knytt is at its core, a 2D platformer, but adds a large world to explore and gives the player abilities to solve puzzles and advance throughout the world, allowing the character to dash, fly and teleport, among other powers. Each chapter of the game involves different aspects of gameplay, with the first being an introduction to the main character, the second focused on a ball form, and the third combining both together. While frustrating at times during the beginning as you figure out how each power works and controls, once you’ve got the hang of it, Knytt Underground is absolutely hard to put down and each place you explore is a fun experience."
Quality game, lovely exploration with some VERY hard segments.
Haven't played much of this yet but what I have played is fantastic. Personally, you can never have too many 2D platformers. Ever.
Didn't really like this game too much tbh...
I's a great idea though, for some weird reason it reminds me of a boy and his blob.
I thought it was quite hard in places. Took me awhile to figure out where to go.
I recommend people download it on there Vita if they have one, makes a huge difference when you have earphones, the soundtrack is amazing.
edit: Just to add It's free on PS+
I wish NA PS+ got cool shit like this that I don't already have.
