5 Video Game Sequels We’re STILL Waiting For

TSJ writes: 2013 is upon us, which is the very nice way of saying that we thought we’d have our hands on games like BioShock Infinite by now. However, we should consider ourselves lucky that we should have to wait just a few more months instead of the rest of our natural lives. Please find below a list of potentially mind-blowing video game sequels that we’ll probably have to wait for longer than it took Duke Nukem Forever to come out.

Shenmue 3 is just not gonna happen. Especially with the way they blew their operating income on the first two Shenmues and got little in return.

Shenmue only 'failed' because it was released on a niche system (best console ever) and then the sequel was released exclusively on the xbox, which not many people had at that time and the ones that did have one were too busy enjoying Halo and others.

Shenmue failed commercially because Sega didnt make it a multiplat title when the DC died. I honestly believe that had Shenmue 2 been ported to the ps2 rather than xbox we'd be on Shenmue 4 by now.

And Sega, the dipshits, blame Yu Suzuki and pretty much manage theguy out of the company. That guy is a legend.

I didn't buy lair when it came out, i borrowed from a friend cause i was in college at the time. It was a great game, everyone's complaint is the controls, and at first, I'll admit, ughh, but once you get used to it, it was a really good game, i finished and even bought for my collection after grad. I bet anyone who hates this game is just jumping on with the hate train and not giving it the chance it deserves. And comparing too superman 64, that's a low blow.

pretty much any Double Fine game.
Would love to see a sequel to 2008's Prince of Persia, that iteration of the series was just damned spectacular, and though the combat system was simplistic in design, the game was nonetheless a damned fun experience overall.

I'd love to see a sequel to Legacy of Kain: Defiance some day. Raziel's story has ended, but Kain still has shit to do! And the devs had already written a plot out for the sequel, so they clearly had intentions to continue the story.

Timesplitters 4...naturally.

A true Dino Crisis 3 (none of that "dinosaurs in space" crap!) Being chased through small corridors by great, big dinosaurs in HD graphics would be...wow.

Resident Evil Outbreak #3. Now that online gaming is more common, a new Outbreak game would be incredible.

You can add Legacy of Kain to Baldur's Gate, Freespace, Age of Empires, Homeworld, Rise of Nations, Age of Mythology, and countless other classic games that will never get the sequels they deserve because their development teams no longer exist.

What I'd REALLY like to see in a Legacy of Kain sequel is one that takes it back to its roots--stylized in a top-down view just like the very first Blood Omen game for the PS One and PC. That game still remains one of my most beloved games! I just don't feel that any other LoS games, with maybe the exception of Defiance, even came close to being as well rounded. Anyone else agree?
