WGB writes: "We’re nearing the release of Capcom’s controversial new DmC: Devil May Cry, and the reviews are starting to roll in. Pick up the latest issue of GamesMaster UK and you’ll find contained within the pages their verdict on Dante’s rebooted return to our consoles. So were GamesMaster impressed? Yup."

I tried playing the demo so much that I would like it as much everyone else does. I just can't get jiggy with this game. I'll stick with the OG series. This franchise isn't for me anymore.

Am I the only person looking forward too this game?

J-Killer154127d ago

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've learned how to dry hump demons in mid air with jump cancel, and I'm incorporating other moves into my style of play, but I'm not having fun. Is there more to this game that I should know? I'm being serious.

WolfLeBlack4127d ago

There is indeed more to the game. Remember, you've only got the demo at the moment. Ultimately, though it's all about the combat and learning how to create flowing chains, so if you're not enjoying it in the demo then your probably not going to be that fussed about the full game either.

WolfLeBlack4127d ago

I'm looking forward to it, but then I'm not going into it automatically prejudiced despite my love of the previous games, except for 2. 2 never happened.

It looks like a solid action game, and right now that's what I'm in the mood for so it's all good.

No, they liked the check that came with the game. NT is paying reviewers still. How is it all the media liked the demo but the general population hated it. Same thing is happening with the game.

the anti "DmC" and "Donte" faction , of wich i'm a part , should stop with the "paid reviews" arguments , it just make people look like paranoid nuts and raving lunatics . Not helping .

I just chalk it up as the media having a love story as usual with NT , and the usual bad taste and lack of knowledge about games .

The press wasnt paid to praise Enslaved to the point that had it sold well , it would have been a goty contender .

Of course some big sites like IGN are just adboards for the big publishers most of the times , but unless there is a blatant "proven" case (like pes 2008 and IGN) , it's best to let it go .

I don't agree with you, in that I think the game is good in its own ways. It's different than the originals. I understand the gripes but I like the setting, voice acting, the way the story looks. But those disagreements aside:

I appreciate your maturity in calling out the "paid reviewers" arguments. They look so immature! I have friends that review games for magazines/websites and, while it MAY be true for IGN, is a baseless accusation for these other publications.

So while we respectfully disagree, I am glad to see some of you don't JUST hate the game cause you feel like you're supposed to. I'm an old school DMC fan that is looking forward to this game from a different perspective

People are just going nuts because it is not turning out the way they predicted it would. They hoped it would get bad reviews and Capcom would go home crying and make a DMC with Dante again. But now that their predictions aren't coming true they are pissed. Gamers don't care about if they were. That is all gamers are concerned about. Being right no matter what. Facts, logic and figures don't matter. People keep yelling 'The demo wasn't good' and decided that the demo represented the whole game and are shocked that the whole game is not as bad as they thought the demo was.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC5d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos4d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer5d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya5d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde5d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP4d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
