Talladega Mom Buys Nintendo 3DS, Gets A Box Full Of Rocks

Scam artists worked to ruin Christmas this year for one Talladega boy.
The boy's mom bought her son a Nintendo gaming system but when the boy opened the box there was no Nintendo. Instead the box was full of rocks wrapped in tissue paper.

More like the store we shop at, Walmart is filled with trashy employees so its no surprise the majority of these incidents happens with them.

That said, anyone that buys something worth more than $100 and doesn't check if the seals are broken is about as smart as a box of rocks.

Yep, Wal-mart, and most every other major and minor retailer, also scans the serial number as well. It's either printed on the box, or there's a window on the box to see it on the device. When they're returned they check that serial number against the one on the receipt. If they don't match your SOL. Although I do believe Wal-Mart has an exchange policy with no receipt. They do this to prevent people from replacing their defective systems, because the retailer gets no credit from the distributor for a defective system if it wasn't the one originally sold.

I really can't stand when people needlessly bring up things like this every chance they get. Do children die every day in 3rd world countries? Yes, and it's unfortunate. They deserve much better than the life they are given. But that is completely unrelated to the topic at hand, and it's pathetic that people bring it up all the time. If you're so concerned about these children then donate to charity or something, do something to help them, sitting here bringing it up isn't going to help those children any more than not saying anything at all. I do what I can to help whenever possible, but I don't act all smug about it or rub the issues in peoples faces. That's wrong and you should be ashamed of yourself.

It was quoted above, but damn if whomever this quotes doesn't make themselves look like complete idiots. Why the hell you wouldn't enforce this policy further beforehand when taking in ANY item, not just items over a certain pricepoint. For crying out loud...this is why I don't buy from Walmart. Who knows how many hands have touched that new product, if the product is even in there.
