1UP's Favorite Games of 2012: Lumines Electronic Symphony

1up.com: As someone who adores when video games and music collide to form interesting interactive collaborations, I couldn't be happier with Lumnies Electronic Symphony. Every element of this music-driven puzzle game oozes style and sophistication, with a soundtrack that overflows with adoration for the electronic music scene. This installment finally realizes Lumines potential and I would recommend it as a must-play for any Vita owner.

anything that has aphex twin is bound to be spectacular. gorgeous game and fantastic music choices.

Yet the devs STILL never added online versus mode. This is like the 6th game in the series! THAT is why this otherwise "good" game isn't selling. It's especially seemingly more expensive looking, considering it's lack of said feature. Fans demand more.

Even Tetris on the old DS has online...

Electronic Symphony is the best game in the Lumines series. It looks visually stunning on the Vita's 5" OLED and the soundtrack is amazing. I think this game is underrated, more Vita owners should play it. Hopefully it'll be free for PS Plus members eventually.

A Look at All of the Rhythm Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Despite its somewhat anaemic lineup of backwards-compatible titles (unusual in light of the genre’s strong pedigree on Sony consoles), Vita’s selection of rhythm games is highly impressive in the modern market with genre favourites like DJMax, Hatsune Miku and Taiko no Tatsujin all present and plenty of quirky oddities like Deemo, Love Live & Persona thrown in for good measure. You’re definitely going to need to try your hand at importing to get the most of the genre here, but that shouldn’t be an issue thanks to region-free hardware and easy-to-grasp gameplay."

Turn a long road trip into playtime

The Blade's Will Harrison: As I plan a 20-hour road trip of my own, there are go-to games that I can always rely upon to kill time and make the drive all the more pleasant. As usual, the best game is the one you love.

So, pack some old friends for the long journey ahead. Even if you have miles to go before you sleep there’s always time for one more turn before the batteries fade.

The PlayStation Vita still has some games in it, let's get that out of the way from outset. The release schedule isn't massive, but there's a steady trickle of releases that should keep us going through the console's twilight.

No tearaway or killzone mercenary?

Kallisti2876d ago

Did the Vita ever get a game that looked better than Killzone? That game looked so good for a handheld game.

Darkwatchman2876d ago

Nope. Still most technically impressive vita title ever.

Deadpooled2875d ago

Probably the best fps on a handheld ever, actual effort from the developers Guerilla Cambridge compared to the shoddy devs who did those resistance and cod games.

Needs more Soul Sacrifice Delta

Deadpooled2875d ago

I remember the limited edition psvita soul sacrifice versions (red one) which looked stunningly beautiful.

Kal-V32874d ago

I am a proud owner of one and it is awesome.

ONESHOTV22876d ago

for my list it's

Persona 4 Golden
NFS Most Wanted 12
Soul Sacrifice
Dynasty Warriors Next
Muramasa Rebirth
Terraria
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
Metal Gear Solid 2
Gravity Rush
Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus

StanleyRoper2876d ago

A totally decent list. I could add A LOT to it. How about the 2 EDF games? EDF 2017 Portable and EDF 2 Invaders From Planet Space?

Skankinruby2876d ago

Killzone mercenary, uncharted golden abyss, gravity rush, and resistance burning skies were my favs. So sad the vita wasn't more successful it had so much potential

Darkwatchman2876d ago

The only one you listed that I consider "best of the system" material is Killzone. Gravity Rush and Uncharted were Eh, but Resistance Burning Skies was decent. I did not like the single player. That portion of the game felt very underdeveloped, but the multiplayer for a time until Killzone came out was probably the best handheld shooter online expeience you could ever have. Tons of dumb fun
