It deserves at VERY LEAST an 8/10, most people agree. Personally, I would give it a 10/10, and most would give it an 8.5 or 9 out of 10...

The gameplay is the only thing going for this game. The menus are mediocre, the roster is lacking, and the music, although catchy, is just alright. Don't get me started on arcade mode.
However, the balancing is near perfection, and gameplay is amazing. 6/10 is spot on for this game.

You obviously didn't read what I said. Let's do some basic math. 6 points for just gameplay, so obviously gameplay is the most important thing. The arcade mode was garbage enough to bring it down at least a point, same with the boring menus/loading screens ect... And shouldn't a "roster fighter" have a solid roster? IMO, many, MANY characters are missing out, even First Party characters like ICO, Wander, Nathan Hale, and so on. There are the other two points.

Don't get me wrong, I like this game a lot. But it doesn't deserve any GOTY awards.

Who said 6/10 was a bad score? I personally feel like it is a "good" score.

When did I personally mention SSB? The only one in that series I've played is Brawl, and personally I'm not a huge fan. All-Stars is great, but you can't give it a perfect score, or the dev's will think that menus/rosters/ ect don't matter. Everything should be perfect for a perfect score. With nothing great about the game other than the gameplay, I feel as though a 6/10 is suitable. What's wrong with a 6/10, I think it's a good score. It's a passing score in school.

And i feel sorry for your report card in my house hold a D is not a passing grade its a failing grade. I don't accept a 6/10 a passing anything.

You say Gameply is great which is by far the most important thing. And you mark it down for menus and music which by your own admission isn't even that bad. 6/10 is never a good score.

i am also not saying the score isn't correct i'm just pointing out the hilarity with your scale.

Twenty characters is not enough for some people? There is such a thing as quality over quantity. Sure, there are some that would have been great as characters in the game. Maybe they weren't obtainable, who knows. But I have yet to even get beyond the training for some characters, because I've had fun learning how to play some too much.
Also, the fact that the game is getting knocked by some for menus is just ridiculous. To think an update for the game even improved the menus some. I'd hate to hear these peoples' gripes at a restaurant. The food is great, but look at those curtains!

I have no issues with Kratos at all. I avoid him well. The one I have issues with is the Helghast. People jump to the end of the map constantly, and on flat maps they do it easily. You go knock them into battle, and they just run to the other side. Constantly shooting and throwing the nade. They get their supers extremely fast by doing it and end up winning.... When you get stuck in a game with two people doing it, it slows the pace down a lot....

I've yet to run into that issue. I haven't played anyone that plays him well.

I think this is where edge of maps would be handy. If they keep running to the edge, we would be able to knock them off the map at least.

Not only does the reviewer not understand that characters have strengths and weaknesses beyond what is capable of their level 1, he even insults those that like the game: "if you have no idea how a brawler or fighter actually works, and you have no critical thinking ability that allows you to differentiate between ‘fair’ and ‘unfair,’ then you could really enjoy this game."
Listen, reviewer: just because one person's level 1 super is better than another, doesn't mean the game is broken. It might mean that's just one of their strengths. To actually get to that level 1 with that character might be tougher.

Another amusing section: "You know what these games had that All-Stars doesn’t? An acceptable and fair way to actually win based on the skill of the players in question." - Just because you're not good, doesn't mean there's not a way for you to win. You were probably beaten by players with more skill.

This game was designed around skill. It was made by fighting game fans and developers. These are the top fighters in the world, btw. This guy gave the most balanced brawler in history a 6/10 for balancing issues.

He sucks at the game. That is ALL there is to it.

Fuck reviews, the game is fun as shit. Who cares if the menus look like ass last I remembered I was playing the game not the menus they get me where I'm going easily then I'm okay a really flashy menu is a bonus. Remember Brawls menu some white background and that's it. No one cared then why now, and lvl1 are worse and better than others for balance reasons. A guy gains AP like crazy should have an awful lvl1 and visa versa although there are exceptions *cough sly* that's what patches are for. Overall 8.9.
