RAGE: The Scorchers DLC Review | HAL

Ross Hartley: "I can't believe that I am writing this review. If you asked me a year ago if there was going to be RAGE downloadable content released well over a year after its original outing, I would think you were insane. Not only is this new "The Scorchers" DLC released way after the fact, but for it be released in the middle of December seems like a good way of making sure that no one will notice; not a good sign. I'm really surprised that new RAGE DLC exists at all, to be honest. RAGE didn't exactly set the world on fire on terms of sales, though, I did think it was one of the better first-person shooters of 2011. The Scorchers is a good chunk of new content and if you are a fan of RAGE like myself, you should probably buy it. It's better late than never!"

very nice review, i also had issues when i was within the small towns because there are no mini maps. there are some things rage did right and some it got 100% wrong. not having a mini map and online MP are 2 of the most lackluster efforts by ID

can't wait ti pick this up since it quite cheap

Do you need hand holding in every game?

showtimefolks4138d ago

It's not about hand holding its about providing something that every other game in this world provides. I guess me and all the reviewers who complained about the same thing are wrong and some of you ID fan or the core gaming fans are right

When in those small towns a character would tell you to go somewhere than you have to look around different signs just to find it where you going. A mini map of some sort would have helped

It's not like the towns are huge places you can get lost in, they're pretty easy to navigate. If it was a huge place I could understand it, but they aren't.

I wouldn't see it as much of an issue myself.

So im hoping this dlc makes the game actually fun cos i found rage boring as hell it was like a corridor version of borderlands.

RAGE - The Scorchers DLC - Review | G4MERS

G4MERS: "Do you remember the game RAGE? No? I also had time to forget it, but because the only feature the extension to her about this game from Bethesda remembered. I remembered how RAGE dragged me in this post-apocalyptic world, as I devoured, by then brutally chew and spit me because the title was a big disappointment but like hypem who accompanied him. Despite this, I reached for the DLC The Scorchers, except the hope that the add-on will offer me more than it did a basic version of the game."

ZTGD | RAGE: The Scorchers (DLC) Review

Ken McKown writes: This console generation has introduced a lot of new ideas and gaming staples. Probably the most polarizing of these is DLC. Gamers want to know why we have day-one DLC on certain titles; well this is the reason. The Scorchers is an add-on for Rage. Take that in for a minute. Rage came out over a year ago, and to be fair, most gamers have likely forgotten about it. That isn’t to say it was a bad game, it’s just that gamers have attention spans that can only be measured in nanoseconds. However, if you still own a copy of the game, and have 2-3 hours to spend, this pack is easily one of the best bangs you will get for your buck.
