Being bad is clearly good, and there’s often bad guys we want to win. So here’s some.

I don't know about you but I never stopped wanting the helghan from Killzone to win the fight they are just badass. I kinda wish killzone 4 is more about them wining or at least more helghan badass moment. I wish we could play them instead of ISA or whatever they are called.

Agreed, how could this list not include the Helghans?! I mean come on, they got badass orange glowing eyes, cool British accents and some of the most advanced military weapons ever and Im sure every other KZ fan wants to play as em as well :D

I never thought of the Helghan as bad guys, but ppl who never get what they deserved(Support and representation, almost like the Colonies facing Great Britain). Now the ISA I F'in hate them(They're Great Britain). Once you know the whole story its reversed, and stupid.

Im pretty sure if you do your history on great Britain, when Britain took over a country they brought trading systems, they brought an education system etc. im not sure what you are going with, with isa and Britain.

NO !!! the joy of kz is just shooting those guys. when I am in kz2 mp I always enjoy killing helghan and that is why I want to play as an ISA even though they are shit.

I really wanted The Boss to at least live as she was a great character. In the end, she did what was right and carried out her mission no matter the stakes. MGS3 was awesome.

I feel like people tend to mistake interesting villains with villains you can sympathize with.

Characters like the Origami Killer and Kain were interesting and egnaging, but I can honestly say that I never wanted the Origami Killer to get away and continue killing, or Kain to destroy the entire world.

They would not be "villains" if they were easy to sympathize with.

Vaas - FarCry 3, It's really hard to hate him.

Arthus/Lich King - Warcraft 3(Not WoW), I loved playing from him being a Goody-two-shoes to basically, an evil jackass though he still had a good spirit on loyalty to those who served him. I wanted to see him rule, Arthus became the Lich king, given supposed powers but ultimate to what I saw from WoW videos, we was treated like a Pussy and defeated by lowly MMO player-heroes.....To me, it's a cockslap to the greatness that was Arthus as a character. He was bitchified so that players may kill him to simply end a chapter in the Warcraft world.....Arthus just should've continued being badass.

If you don't mind, I'm going to dip into TV shows and say Walter White (Breaking Bad) and Dexter Morgan (Dexter) are my favorite villains from anything ever, except Metal Gear Solid, which I am glad was mentioned.

I miss Legacy of Kain..it needs a new game. Or a reboot. I would have been dubious about a reboot at one point but considering how well Square has done with Deus Ex, Hitman and Tomb Raider i could see it being decent.
