THQ has confirmed that Metro: Last Light will ship in March 2013. The first round of copies will be sold as a a limited edition.
The Metro video game series started with a humble b-list title, before building a strong fanbase and becoming a pioneer in the industry.
4A Games celebrates the 10th anniversary of its first-person shooter by offering it free for a week.
4A Games' Metro: Last Light originally launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC 10 years ago today, and still holds up.
I got bored of Hogwarts crazy quick and it's bugs, was looking for just any good game got the Metro trilogy for about £8.50 in a Steam sale played through 2033 Redux, Last Light Redux and now am on Exodus. The series is awesome, the first two are like more liner story driven FPS with a few options to confront the levels, stealth, no kill runs and guns blazing, depending on how you play effects the story and its outcome. Third game I'm playing now is heavy story driven (but optional if you don't want to listen you can just walk away... I don't know why you would though) with large open levels that take hours to explore and still some of the best use of RTX I've seen to date, can play this game on ultra with DLSS set to quality, raytracing set to ultra at 4K with no dips, played on Extreme setting and was getting a few drops around water and some interiors.
Cant recommend this series enough and as a new fan I can't wait to see the next game in 2024... I also got the audio books so looking forward to see how well the games follow the original books. A4 Games are extremely talented.
Nice, Sony locking in those deals or THQ making up for the lack of Metro 2033 on the PS3?
Seeing as how I won't be buying Homefront, but looking into Metro: Last Light, I might buy it off the PSN.
The demos they showed were on 500 series cards, Crysis 3 demos were shown on 5000 dollar PCs and they have finished their polish for Crysis 3, Metro Last Light polish has just started and they are gonna squeeze the 780 GTX series cards to death .... now do you get what its gonna be like ?
bought metro 2033 day one for pc, amazing atmosphere, incredible story, unrivaled visuals, but....the gunplay was a bit wonky and some of the in-game dynamics (the bullet currency, gas masks, watch ect...were a bit strange, kinda cool, but also not fleshed out enough to be engaging)
the game performed amazing on my system then (i think i was using a gtx 285 then, ran it in dx10, perfect 60 frames, now, with a gtx 685, in dx11, WOW, game is beyond what i believe even ps4 will do, cannot wait to see last light, day one purchase for me!
thq needs our love, they make some great games, i want to see them succeed, and get back on their feet
i dont want to game in a world where all thats left is activision, ea and zynga
*shudder*
Impossible for a dev to use full potential of a hi end pc card or parts..
The prove is on consoles look how long it has been and devs still improve on optimization of a 7 years old engine and technology.
Don't argue this with me, it's clear ..
It may hurt your ego but you don't get what you pay for is never used properly or optimized how is meant to be.
The tech demos of each engi e show what the true performance that card can do but it never reach that level since devs have to move on a new better tech.
To be honest, this game looks ok, i'll probably give it a go BUT i recon PS3 owners shoulod get ba FREE DLC copy of the first game. We missed out, i'm presuming there would be some kind of story that would be helpfull mto carry on through to this new release.
C'mon, give us something special..........please!!!!!!!
