Nice, Sony locking in those deals or THQ making up for the lack of Metro 2033 on the PS3?

Seeing as how I won't be buying Homefront, but looking into Metro: Last Light, I might buy it off the PSN.

black9114143d ago

Metro 2033 FLOPPED on the 360 just like every other 360 exclusive that isnt named Halo or Gears.

Orpheus4143d ago

IT DOESNT MATTER IF METRO 2033 FLOPPED ON THAT 360 TOY OR NOT !!!

Pandamobile4143d ago

Uhh, in what universe is Metro 2033 an Xbox 360 exclusive?

AngelicIceDiamond4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

No, it didn't...

THQ announced it hit 1.5 million copies across the PC and Xbox 360.

black9114143d ago

Here are the 360 of metro 2033

http://www.vgchartz.com/gam...

Feel free to look up sales other 360 exclusives like alan wake, splinter cell, crack down etc. the only 360 exclusives that realy sell are fears and halo compared to tons of exclusives that sony have that surpass the 2 5 6 even 9millon mark like gran turismo.

I feel like consoles have come to the state where they're only for utterly poor or lazy people. This game is going to look so horrible on console compared to even a $300 PC that it's just pathetic. I don't even switch on my PS3 now except for exclusives. Offering a free game with horrible console graphics is NOT going to convince me to buy it on console. They need to do something to prevent hemorrhaging of users.

iNMyFiN4LH0uR4143d ago

$300 CPU will get you the lowest settings and an average fps rate of 15-20. Thats besides all the overheating and crashes you'll encounter. Try again please.

CaptCalvin4143d ago

How about YOU try again? Since when do you need a $300 CPU to run games decently? An $80 CPU will do just fine. The GPU has a much bigger impact, but even my HD5850 that I bought for $200 4 years ago runs the latest games on the highest graphical settings at 1200p at 30FPS, without over clocking.

iNMyFiN4LH0uR4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

I don't know what qualifies a CPU for you, but it involves a processor, RAM, a case, a power supply, a GPU, a HDD or SDD among other things. Are you seriously going to tell me $80 CPU with will run the likes of Assassin's Creed 3, Gears of War 3, Halo 4? Are you mentally challenged my friend? As for your $200 graphics card, I suggest you upgrade cause although its a tier 1 graphics card and can run most games very well, however, when benchmarked it has hard time running Metro 2033 on high so good luck running the sequel the way it was meant to be run, I mean isn't that the point,of PC gaming? Look it up yourself at notebookcheck:ATI-Mobility-Rad eon-HD-5850.23069.0.html

And THIS is precisely the reason there is a market for consoles, so that people don't have to deal with expensive upgrades with regards to GPUs, processors and RAMs, drivers and updates, whether the GPU is even compatible, fps rates, crashes and all kinds of stuff. Hell, even Valve, leaders in establishing and promoting PC gaming are trying to circumvent all these obstacles by coming out with a more standardized hardware next year, in other words: a console.

As for your hemorrhaging, as a PC gamer myself, there is a major distinction between technical graphics between a PC and a console, but you exaggerate to a large degree. That's besides the point there are games that look absolutely beautiful on the console, exclusives especially. As a PC gamer myself, I recognize that if you want to experience the game technically its best enjoyed on the PC however, as someone who prefers controllers, a massive community when it comes to the likes of COD and Halo and more of course exclusives, I most definitely prefer the PS3, 360 and Wii.

CaptCalvin4142d ago (Edited 4142d ago )

For $300 you'd get a top of the line CPU to run a damn server! There's so much wrong with your argument I don't even know where to begin. First of all the CPU IS the processor. How could you confuse "PC" with "CPU?" And of course the Mobility Radeon HD 5850 had a hard time running Metro 2033, but that's not the card that I got. I didn't know that mobility chipsets can even enter a conversation about buying graphics cards for a desktop. I built my entire PC back in 09 for $800 and still have no trouble running any game that's came out since, and that's without getting a single upgrade. I highly doubt that you are a PC gamer, because you don't remotely have any idea what you're talking about.

The amount of "big" games releasing between January and May 2013 is amazing...

Ni no Kuni, DMC, Dead Space 3, Sly Cooper, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, God of War, Sim City, Metal Gear Rising, StarCaft II, Gears of War, BioShock Infinite, Army of Two, Dead Island, The Last of Us, GTA5, Sim City, Company of Heroes 2, Grid 2, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Metro: Last Light, Remember Me, The Cave, etc...

Orpheus4143d ago

The demos they showed were on 500 series cards, Crysis 3 demos were shown on 5000 dollar PCs and they have finished their polish for Crysis 3, Metro Last Light polish has just started and they are gonna squeeze the 780 GTX series cards to death .... now do you get what its gonna be like ?

Norrison4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

I don't think so, because metro 2033 was unoptimized as hell it was the new crysis, you need to have an SLI setup or you wouldn't be able to max it out, I'm pretty sure metro 2033 is a lot more demanding than crysis 3 will ever be; hoping last light won't be another metro 2033 or worse

phantomexe4143d ago

No one cares orpheus and besides pc games rarely sell more then consuls.......so what do you want them to do, just sell it on pc.

landog4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

bought metro 2033 day one for pc, amazing atmosphere, incredible story, unrivaled visuals, but....the gunplay was a bit wonky and some of the in-game dynamics (the bullet currency, gas masks, watch ect...were a bit strange, kinda cool, but also not fleshed out enough to be engaging)

the game performed amazing on my system then (i think i was using a gtx 285 then, ran it in dx10, perfect 60 frames, now, with a gtx 685, in dx11, WOW, game is beyond what i believe even ps4 will do, cannot wait to see last light, day one purchase for me!

thq needs our love, they make some great games, i want to see them succeed, and get back on their feet

i dont want to game in a world where all thats left is activision, ea and zynga

*shudder*

Norrison4143d ago

A GTX 685 doesn't exist and the game doesn't look that impressive lol.

landog4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

lol...woops....meant gtx 680...back when the game launched i had a 285....im sleepy

the game looks pretty impressive maxed out imo

akaakaaka4143d ago (Edited 4143d ago )

Impossible for a dev to use full potential of a hi end pc card or parts..
The prove is on consoles look how long it has been and devs still improve on optimization of a 7 years old engine and technology.

Don't argue this with me, it's clear ..
It may hurt your ego but you don't get what you pay for is never used properly or optimized how is meant to be.

The tech demos of each engi e show what the true performance that card can do but it never reach that level since devs have to move on a new better tech.

REDGUM4143d ago

To be honest, this game looks ok, i'll probably give it a go BUT i recon PS3 owners shoulod get ba FREE DLC copy of the first game. We missed out, i'm presuming there would be some kind of story that would be helpfull mto carry on through to this new release.
C'mon, give us something special..........please!!!!!!!

CaptCalvin4143d ago

You can get it for PC for FREE. Just like their FB page and you'll get a Steam key for it.

Metro Video Game Series: A Comprehensive History

The Metro video game series started with a humble b-list title, before building a strong fanbase and becoming a pioneer in the industry.

TheBrainZ71d ago

Never got into Exodus, but 2033 was excellent.

kevco3371d ago

Yeah, Exodus just didn't grab me either, sadly.

I absolutely loved 2033 and Last Light, however. Played them both on 360 and then again with the remasters!

anast70d ago

I just started it and it is already miles better than the first 2 which are dated.

Metro: Last Light - Still Fresh After 10 Years

4A Games' Metro: Last Light originally launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC 10 years ago today, and still holds up.

MrDead337d ago

I got bored of Hogwarts crazy quick and it's bugs, was looking for just any good game got the Metro trilogy for about £8.50 in a Steam sale played through 2033 Redux, Last Light Redux and now am on Exodus. The series is awesome, the first two are like more liner story driven FPS with a few options to confront the levels, stealth, no kill runs and guns blazing, depending on how you play effects the story and its outcome. Third game I'm playing now is heavy story driven (but optional if you don't want to listen you can just walk away... I don't know why you would though) with large open levels that take hours to explore and still some of the best use of RTX I've seen to date, can play this game on ultra with DLSS set to quality, raytracing set to ultra at 4K with no dips, played on Extreme setting and was getting a few drops around water and some interiors.

Cant recommend this series enough and as a new fan I can't wait to see the next game in 2024... I also got the audio books so looking forward to see how well the games follow the original books. A4 Games are extremely talented.
