What's The Biggest Disappointment Of 2012?

I agree. So overrated. I don't know why Sites were giving it perfect and really high scores. That game really didn't deserve it. It was a solid 7-8. For comparisons sake, far cry 3 was getting the same scores Dishonored was getting and that game is leap and bounds better. It literally blew me away. Seriously, If you don't far cry 3. Buy it. It an amazing game.

Yeah Dishonoured was a big let down, it's too disjointed, it might have worked as an open world or a with a properly constructed hub with seamless transitions to the different zones but as a series of levels it keeps breaking immersion. Dishonoured has to tell the player what he found and what he missed at the end of each level otherwise most of the really subtle stuff would probably go undiscovered by most people. There's plenty to discover, but why bother? None of the charms and upgrades really make any noticeable difference to the way Corvo performs, just tiny stat boosts.You can presumably finish the game with no upgrades at all, it's not like, say Arkham city where the gadgets and upgrades can be game changers. This game would have worked better if it'd been more like Splinter Cell or even Velvet Assassin where you have a limited set of tools at your disposal and the path to the end of the mission is up to you but you have to work within your limitations, Corvo's blink and slow time abilities are just "I win buttons" there's no need to experiment.

Oh yeah, Medal of Honor Warfighter was a mess. They delayed the review copies because Danger Close knew it was bad. The online is broken, and I'm trying to finish up the last level in the campaign, but it's so damn boring. CoD Declassified has an excuse for sucking, it was a rushed cash grab, but Danger Close probably needs to just stop with the Medal of Honor series. The character animations are so bad it's actually funny at times. The only thing good about the game are the lighting effects, everything else sucks.

Assassins Creed 3 for sure, im pretty confident it wont win any GOTY awards so im happy about that. Only games i was happy with were Mass Effect 3, Dishonored, Sleeping Dogs and Far Cry 3.

On another note, Tomb Raider looks like its gonna suffer the same fate as AC3.

I agree. The story for Uncharted 3 was horrible and the final boss fight was lame as hell. However, I thought the graphics were better than UC2 (especially in the cutscenes).

I'd say most disappointing for me was ME3 due to its ending, the journey was great, emotional ties with the characters but the ending was just half-assed and very poorly written.

The worst game this year for me was Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified. Absolute middle finger to both CoD fans and Vita fans. Very short SP, mediocre MP and $50. Sorry but for $50 I expect there to be more than that.

My biggest disappointent is authors like this who whine about whiners. Hypocrites.

There was nothing wrong with people criticizing the ending. There was nothing wrong with people boycotting their products, or sending cupcakes, or debating getting a billboard outside of the bioware HQ.

You can peacefully voice discontent or disapproval.

There was nothing wrong had bioware stood by their ending. There was nothing wrong with bioware defending why they made the ending they did.

You can create whatever you like.

See my point? The artist can make, the audience can critique.

Haven't finished AC3 yet, but I've heard things. With that being said, I'll have to go with Mass Effect 3. It was the first and only RPG I've put everything into since KOTOR, and it let me down, hard.

The first was amazing. I was so glad I gave it a go. The second was pretty darn good. Wasn't too happy about the mechanics they changed, but story was really good. And 3 had the build up and even the momentum, but the ending, no matter how old it gets from hearing from Everywhere, really did fall flat and leave that bad taste in everyones mouth. It was my most anticipated title in a Long time, and I still feel cheated.

2012 was a sad year for gamer's
for me i was only happy for PES2013 been back to it rots and fun to play, watch dogs seem fun to(need to get it soon), re6 is a good game but not a resident evil game(witch is why is hated), far cry is the only exiting thing i seen this year and i hope i get it soon and i don't have a xbox but halo 4 seem good for the first time since halo evolved but the rest was sad or simple.

Milking a old outdated teach did't help.
Next year will be what I believe the best gaming year ever, specially if you are a PS3 owner.
and we all now and hope that the PS4, Xbox3 will come out next year and it will end in a legendary year for gaming, the best year ever.

Revealing of steambox. I love steam but Now every company is going to want a piece of the pie. Pretty soon we will have originbox, ActiVisions box just for call of duty etc. also Love how valve thinks there making a new console when its just a stripped down pc. Only time a steam box would be cool is if microsoft destroys windows 8's gaming capabilitys by locking stuff with there dumb app store. Another thing is why is ms trying to incorporate a app store when apps are pretty much copies of window applications for non pc devices?? Dumb logic.

Just didn't feel right. I had this high expectation with the single player. Like the covenant, for one half the aliens didn't even resemble the aliens from the original series. The sounds where off.just felt like they put so much emphasis on the bad prometheans...
