So, How Well Does Darksiders II On Wii U Actually Run?

Let's say you don't yet own Darksiders II, do own a Wii U, and are considering picking the game up for your new console. How's it shape up against the versions that have been out on the market on competing platforms for a few months now?

Like most other games, it's not really a clear-cut case of the new Wii U edition being any better or worse. Some parts, according to a report on Digital Foundry, feature better effects, while other parts are missing models or have lower-res textures.

The video above, compared the PS3 and Wii U versions, while DF's full report goes into great detail contrasting all four editions, and includes performance graphs tracking things like framerate.

I have never played this game and it may we be the best game ever made. So so donn't flame me for speaking the truth but the graphics look like ps2 in HD on all systems. I mean this is a really ugly looking game. yuck!

I have not played the game either, I agree with you though. Maybe a little better than PS2 graphically, more like Gamecube, but I guess the game is huge and allot of people love it. I might check it out.

You are the tool man, on pc the game does not use dx11 but dx9 does not use physis x uses the worst aa setting, does not support high res textures, the only thing the game offers is high res 720 p 1080 P. The stylized textures can only be done justice when playing it in person. actually play it and you'd see just how wrong your statement is. The textures on this game are amazing. And i'd LOVE to see a game that looks nearly this good on any last gen console, please show me one

You are talking out of your ass. I have the game on pc and ps3 and yea the graphics suck. God of war 2 looks much better then this game expect for not being in hd. Look it up yourself.

You just had to bring up God of War 2 which plays differently ( even in structure ).

I played the game on PC with full settings high. The game looks fine.
To say it looks like a Ps2 game is utterly nonsense.

The story and the gameplay that build up to the end are -meh- though.

I think people need to go back to playing some PS2 games to get some facts straight. This is far from what we had on the PS2. It's not the best this gen, but it's better than the start of this gen and much better than PS2 games.

I've got it on Wii U, I don't know if it runs better than PS3 but it runs brilliantly on the Wii U nonetheless. If video is anything to go by though the Wii U version is a hell of a lot better.

no AA
and lots of screen tearing

The fact that it's pretty easy to see from a youtube video means it's quite a difference. so i wouldn't exactly call it "hell of a lot better" when in fact it's not better in any way at all. Of course these differences probably wouldn't even be apparent if they weren't side by side(except missing light rays) so it's not a major deal

Up until I saw this comparison I never really noticed any of these issues. I admit in this case the PS3 version performs better, but that doesn't suddenly make the Wii U version unplayable.

I've got the game on Wii U and there isn't a lot of screen tearing at all. You can easily see from the video that the resolution is the same. There's pretty much no AA on either version. You can clearly see more detail/less blurring at certain parts of the video on Wii U. The lighting is probably one of the biggest differences, the lighting isn't very good on PS3. I agree that they aren't noticeable unless they're side by side but when they are side by side it's easy to see the Wii U version is better. It's good to see that the developers put quite a bit of effort into this port.

I think the wiiu version looks better but its in the little detail like sky. Its the same with bo2. Im sure anyone who got this on the ps3 360 or wiiu will love it no matter which version they got.
