The Metal Gear series uses numeric values for each specific entry - not roman numerals.

This is not MGS5. It's just not. You're seeing what your eyes, and a clever photoshopper want you to see.

From a marketing, promotional and budgetary standpoint, THREE Metal Gear games simultaneously announced is a nightmare for Konami. You've got Revengeance, Ground Zeroes and now MGS5? No... Just no...

This is intended to be viral hype for Ground Zeroes - that's it. The outside of the hospital looks precisely like the Cuba we've seen in that original Ground Zeroes trailer, too.

I think Ground Zeroes is going to have a substantial psychological effect on Big Boss - as indicated heavily by the trailer, and we'll begin to see his descent into who we know him as in the original Metal Gear.

So no, it's not Metal Gear Solid 5. You'll see soon enough - maybe even prior to E3.

For those who hate flipping through 15 pages to find out the list.

1. It SAYS IT IS!
2. This man is a dead ringer for Dr Marv
3. Kojima tweeted all the trailer’s mo-cap
4. It says it with flowers
5. Those are MGS issue hospital pants
6. Mini-Mantis anyone?
7. From ‘FOX’ two phantoms were born
8. The burning man’s in MGS armour
9. Hello Volgin
10. He looks a bit like Raiden
11. It’s full of FOX Engine tech
12. GIANT FLAMING DEATH WHALE!
13. If it looks like a Snake and sounds like a Snake…
14. More mini-Mantis
15. This is the guy…

But Konami or Kojima didn't announce MGS5 yet and this may not be confirmed until late 2013 when GZ would be supposedly out. Rising is coming February and it's a different Metal Gear that fits in a different genre not to mention it is being developed by Platinum Games.

CarlosX3604150d ago

It doesn't matter if MGS5 was announced or not. Kojima has not directly evangelize Ground Zeroes or The Phantom Pain as Metal Gear Solid 5. The end, until he does... it's all speculation.

geddesmond4149d ago

Actually it may not be Metal Gear Solid 5 as the voice at the end of the trailer says V has come through which suggests these could be numbered codes of clones from big boss and its Metal gear solid: V which is about the clone V. But to say MGS uses numeric values instead of Roman numerals and thats why its not number 5 has no logic because that is not a trademark of Kojima and he could change the number system at any time if he felt changing 5 to V fitted the story better due to V has come through. This is Kojima, this is the sort of trolling he does. We all got mind bucked.

Well, I think that about says it all...My body is ready!

League_of_Draven4150d ago

It's about as "MGS5" as Peace Walker. -_-

TotalHitman4150d ago

Slide 10, I think is Ivan Raidenovitch Raikov (Volgin's lover), not Raiden.

Sarcasm4150d ago

Yup its not Raiden, its the character in MGS3 that happen to look like Raiden.

J86blum4150d ago

I don't think its 5 simply because why would he stretch himself so thin and start working on 5 when ground zeros is coming out and its a AAA title, he wouldnt want sales from one or the other to affect each others sales. Kojima does not do stuff like this. maybe 2 years after ground zeros 5 will come out on the next gent consoles.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan169d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara169d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721169d ago (Edited 169d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus169d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow169d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga185d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19185d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19185d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq185d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger185d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder185d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils185d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder185d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85185d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420185d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim185d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo184d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
