Rockstar has released the Gran Theft Auto Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition for iOS devices but the Android version is delayed and will be released later.
Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.
This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.
And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened
It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games
Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.
Retro gaming console emulator apps are now welcome on the Apple App Store and can even offer downloadable games.
From systems that could keep your beer cool, to oddities trying to get in on the popularity of VHS and laserdisc, you’ve got some very, very weird video game consoles out there.
I had the LaserActive... it was a nice collectors piece but not very practical. Especially when it came to needing recapping. I think i paid all of about $50 for the floor model from an incredible Universe back in the day. I ended up selling it many years later for $300 at the time due to it needing a new laser and the aforementioned recapping.
An honorable mention not on the list would be the VM Labs Nuon. It basically looked like any regular DVD player but it had ports on it for controllers to play specific games. one of which is still exclusive to it with Tempest 3000. It also offered nuon enhanced DVD movies with extra content not accessible by regular players.
Rockstar statement:
"Hey guys, due to unforeseen technical issues, the Android release of Vice City will be slightly delayed. Our goal is to get this out for Android by the end of next week. Our apologies for the delay to all our fans on Android devices and please stay tuned for updates."
Kinda disappointed here. Bit of a farce for android. It was put up on the main google play page and people could start to download and pay but when they did they found it broken. Rockstar then took it down and said it wasn't meant to be up quite yet and it'll be up later in the day.
Now they say nope, next week...sometime...probably.... maybe... for android.
If it wasn't an insult enough that it costs more on android now we have this.
Was Vice City the only one where you could shoot the fuel tank of a car? I miss that.
Why can't they release this on the PS Vita?!
I have to buy this legit next week then. I don't like gaming on my phone but I will support R* for their efforts. It's only gonna be like 7 bucks anyway probably.
Ooooo shit I wait for 27 days and now there is no game
When it come back on Google play ???
