Treyarch has announced that the first season of League Play for the multiplayer mode of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” is now underway. League Play is a new competition within the game that pits opponents, whether they are a solo player or part of a team, against similarly ranked teams in a new tournament mode. There are several category divisions of play for varying team sizes where players can gain rank inside different subdivisions of the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” League Play mode.
Each competitor will be given a rank that will remain hidden until the end of the season. Winning matches will increase a player’s rank, while losing a match will lower it. Each week, a bonus pool will give players additional points for their first few wins of the week. This bonus is scheduled to reset every Sunday.
Following the Wii U and 3DS servers being taken offline, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts are officially dead.
Call of Duty players are jumping into Black Ops 2 for the final time before its Wii U servers go offline for good.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 leap up due to summer sales
Wow, good games never get old I guess.
CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.

It's ok until people start rage quitting. Then you're left in a team of 2 or 3 against a full team of 6 with little chance of winning.
Have to say, this was a great addition to cod and can only hope that other developers get given the freedom to explore too. Hate cod as much as you want (I still hate it btw) but you can't deny it it's place at the top.. other games (Halo 4 comes to mind) are too busy playing catch up copying the basic features of cod games while Treyarch are raising the standard in what is possible in fps games.
It's been ages since we've had a system in place where people have good goals to work towards, Halo 3's level system being the last game I can think of. Ever since then, it's just been some stupid leveling up race and prestige nonsense. We need more stuff like league play to give competitive people something real to work towards where winning is the main goal.
