develop-online.net: The producer and director of the revamped version of Final Fantasy XIV Naoki Yoshida has said another error like the original could have catastrophic consequences for Square Enix.
Today, during a pane at PAX East, Square Enix announced the release date of the next expansion Dawntrail, on top of the editions and more.
The MMORPG will arrive on Xbox consoles on 21st March following its open beta, with Square Enix releasing further details on the launch in a new Lodestone blog post.
Not only is Game Pass required to play the game in full, but FFXIV Coins will be required to make purchases - a new currency not used on PC or PlayStation.
What's even the point if they're doing everything possible to convince people NOT to play?
Bad idea. Kind of at the point its almost like a repeat of FFXI on the 360 with it requiring Gold to play.
Greed greed nothing but greed. Anyone who willingly plays 14 on Xbox is a bona fide sucker.
Kotaku writes: "That’s thanks to a series of announcements from Square Enix about exclusive features and play requirements, the latest being a new currency called FFXIV Coins."
Honestly I'm surprised the first FFXIV didn't destroy Square Enix. Particularly after all that FFXIII, FFXIII-2, FFXIII-3, Type-0 and Versus-XIII nonsense.
If this one sucks then yeah.
I mean I dont even think they care, theyre releasing three games from the worst FF game ever. If they do FF14 correctly this time they may get better. Im hoping for the best because I want to play that game.
square you had it coming for the way you have been treating your fans and franchises now lets hope crapcom and EA go through this
Stop slaughtering your own franchise then? It's as if these clowns have no idea what make thier own franchise great.
As much as I love the old Square games I wouldn't even be remotely upset if they disappeared. The ONLY reason I am happy to see the company still together is that people have jobs there and I don't want to see anyone out of work.
