PixlBit's Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Review

PixlBit | "A full-scale handheld Assassin’s Creed game has been a long time coming. However, the hardware and storage space issues have always been a limitation for Ubisoft to bring such an ambitious game to the space. Thanks to the PlayStation Vita, Ubisoft Sofia was given the green light to move forward, netting Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation. Unfortunately, despite the hardware’s capability, it’s clear this adventure is scaled back in every way imaginable and rife with many of the bugs found in its mainline console brethren."

Wow... What a harsh score.

It's by no means a 5/5, i'm thinking 3.5 or 4/5 for what it does.

The swamp environment is actually really cool, i've enjoyed that more that the AC3 Frontier so far!

rpd1234167d ago

Exactly. It's not a great game, but it's not a terrible one. It's a solid title and the fact that they managed an open world AC game on Vita is amazing. And they replicated the AC3 gameplay extremely well.

I had this site on my list of bookmarks and visited the site daily but after the poor reviews of dokuro and liberation which I believe are QUALITY titles so I deleted this site on my list.

DarthJay4167d ago

They disagreed with you on two games and it's the end of the world, huh? I guess it's your life to live.

cmpunk534167d ago

end of the world? there's plenty more site to choose from and I have almost 20 on my bookmark. What's up with the end of the world stuff?

DarthJay4167d ago

Well that's what you make it sound like. "Oh noooo someone I don't agree with they are the worst everrrrrr."

I'm just saying you bookmarked the site for a reason, the writing seems fair enough. It's just funny to me that now they are suddenly not worth your time because they had a different opinion on two games.

rainslacker4167d ago

He kind of has a point though. If you go to a site and you find yourself not agreeing with the reviews they give out, hopefully due to personal experience, then it's time to find a site that actually does have reviews that match your opinions more closely.

If the rest of their site is OK then I wouldn't stop going there personally, I'd probably just ignore the reviews, which is what I do anyways.

pixlbit4167d ago

We strongly encourage you to stop by the site and leave some comments on the review. We'd love to hear your thoughts on both Assassin's Creed III: Liberation and Dokuro. After all, this is the opinion of the writer and opinions will vary. Of course, the text explains the score in detail so please be sure to read that over.

Perhaps you can pinpoint some items where you fundamentally disagree and some engaging conversation can occur. A review should be the start of a conversation, not the end of one.

Looking forward to hearing from you, cmpunk53.

cmpunk534167d ago

No biggie. It's just that your rating system (5 star) is a bit harsh especially on a struggling system that needs positive news or reviews that can help it somehow. While I agree mostly while reading your reviews, the scores like 2/5 = 40% is enough to discourage potential buyers of the game. I agree with games like Ashpalt, Supremacy, Ridge Racer and the others, but games like AC and Dokuro-while not on league of mario games really stands out on their own genre. Liberation compared to Bloodlines and any other portable AC is really an Assassin's Creed in the palm of your hand.

I mostly ignore scores from other sites but pixlbit as I say is on my bookmark list and I actually bought the airflo xbox360 controller that I saw on pixlbit.

@cmpunk53:
reviewers should give scores that reflect their opinion of a game. Giving higher scores cause a system may need it is just as bad as marking a game down because you don't like a system.

Doesn't matter what score is given as long as it is honest, backed up with examples and reflects consistency.

Loved his English accent. But as an assassin, he was an out n out pirate.

FlexLuger3108d ago (Edited 3108d ago )

Ezio! Plus leonardo davinci made all his fancy killing gear. Nuff said.

EDIT: And Ezio was the best dressed too. They nailed that italian flair with his outfit. Most stylish assisn too, then!

GigawattConduit3108d ago

Man, I would love a film of Ezio and da Vinci together, just on adventures. They're the perfect duo.

guitarded773108d ago

Ezio is the bestest assassinz. The other characters don't even compare. Conner was the worst.

PerfidiousSinn3108d ago

Ezio has a half-cape. He wins by default.

GigawattConduit3108d ago

The secret to the awesomeness of the Assassins has finally been revealed!

Relientk773108d ago (Edited 3108d ago )

Ezio

Hands down and he has the coolest full name

Ezio Auditore da Firenze

GigawattConduit3108d ago

Pretty sure that's Italian for "I'M THE BEST AND I CONQUER ALL OF YOU"

Heyxyz3108d ago

Best: Ezio!

Worst: The one from Unity (he was so bad I forgot his name).

GigawattConduit3108d ago

Hey, he wasn't that bland! His name was Brad, jeez.

Castlevania3108d ago

Arno. He was kinda bland (or so people say).

Mystogan3108d ago

Nah the worst was Ratuhnkahetun AKA Connor.

Dark_Overlord3107d ago

Totally agree, I hate AC3 due to him. How could they create such an unlikable character :/ I preferred Haytham to him.
