10 Cancelled Video Games That Looked Awesome

WC writes: Don’t you hate it when all those awesome trailers, clips and pictures of a new game start coming out, and then the trail just goes cold? We hear nothing for weeks, then months, then sometimes years, before the developer finally tells us that the game is cancelled, if that. The reasons vary; the most common is the financial failure of the studio or an administrative shuffle around that has resulted in job losses, while controversy and undisclosed factors are not that uncommon either. It’s a shame because, as this list goes to show, there’s so much creative potential that gets squandered when developers don’t think their projects through fully.

Here are 10 cancelled video games that looked awesome.

ehh Dirty Harry, Sadness was hopeless from the start, it was produced by well known (in Poland) money leeches now called Bloober Team, they did this http://www.musicmasterchopi... via EU fundings program, total waste i think.

Eight Days looks like it would have been a HUGE Max Payne rival, if not beater even today!

Man i hate when awesome looking games get canned, The Getaway 3 being shelved made me sad too =(

BC from Lionhead on the first Xbox. Looked amazing. Would of rather had that than Fable. Still wish someone would tackle that genre.

Eight Days....Was that Ving Rhames and Christopher Walken? Maybe this might get redone for the PS4 cause it looked interesting! I even remember 8 Days having a release date!

Sadness....OMG Nintendo needs to go buy this game from the DEv team and get it made! Lots of possibilities with this one.

Six Days in Fallujah.......I hate POLITICS and SOFTIES! The Devs went all out on six days atmosphere, Destruction, and Immersion. The Original gameplay was very sharp and Violent to the point that you really felt like you were in Fallujah.

At that time NO Game had a sense of urgency in combat that Six days was gonna provide. It was really something special and was gonna rival Bad Company 2 in MP aspect!

I was so Hyped for Six Days until the Political kickback started in and the Devs really toned it down to some cheap Call of Duty clone.

Still unreleased but not officially canceled Six Days may just sit in Limbo until it's forgotten but if they ever release it I want the Original version and NOT the COD CLone!

Six Days in Fallujah - was canned coz of name and place, look ad Spec OPS The Line its even more controversial and made in Germany(most of such games are banned there but they were up to convince some politicians that this is the war you need to show to ppl and they will understand for sure its an evil thing...

maybe if "6 days in Fallujah" was created in EU
it would be finished.

media was lookin for cheap hot news and they got it...

@sitharrefus they was shutdown coz of fundings problem, its not an easy topic ;) mainly talk much, do none - poor investors that gave them cash

6 Days in Falujeh has never been canned. Its still in the works. It might drop console versions and only see a PC release. Only time will tell. As of August 2012 they have stated its not canceled.

Publisher dropping a game doesn't mean it will die. Just needs a new publisher and funding or say just crowd funding.

They forgot Versus. Jk but I am getting very impatient :(

I think that website is way to greedy to make you go through ten pages to see their lists

Great List i was really looking forward to Sadness, such a shame the Dev team got shut down, maybe someone down the road can pick up the IP rights!

Prey 2 is going to be on there some day. Sad. Was really looking forward to that one.
